Just some tech stuff first... These are not 1 minute exposures. Every frame is 1/20 of a second. Its a security camera time lapse, not a long exposure. The night sky is not the point, the entire day of clouds and storms moving by is the main point. Camera is actually 4K, but resolution isn't the only thing at play here, and we're not producing a Hollywood movie either, so there's that. Creatively, I considered chopping off the night hours as many/most days are more interesting without them, but when storms roll through, those can be pretty wild even through the night shots with the lightning flashes. This channel isn't meant to draw millions of views for every day of clouds, it's merely automatically documenting the sky above me so that I and others might enjoy the interesting ones a little more. This is a Reolink outdoor PTZ security camera that uploads 1 JPG each minute to a server where I combine them into a time lapse for each day automatically. I'm about to upgrade the camera to a slightly better Jennov one (generic PTZ on Amazon).

I have the raw footage. If you'll get me some more detail I can get you the video if you want it.

The clouds every day are not always super interesting, but there are many days where the cloud movements in high speed are fascinating. Check out the shorts and other days if you have a chance.

The visual performance of seeing clouds form and roll by and a storm spring into life in fast forward doesn't bring the same joy to everyone of course. To help manage your time though, might I suggest you check out the playback speed option of KZbin? My personal policy is that I never watch anything less than 2x speed unless I'm truly trying to immerse myself in the content. With a 2x speed setting you'd have saved 47.5 seconds of your life and that's time you can put in the bank!🙃

Some days are boring, some days are really interesting. This all happens automatically so while yes, I built the system for fun, it takes pictures, produces video, and posts to KZbin all by itself. The thing is, you can't predict what days will have interesting clouds or storms, so you've got to capture every day in order to capture the good ones.
