How do you prime the oil pump?
@DIYMagpi10 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching, and please subscribe if you haven't already done so. I removed the spark plugs and disconnected the fuel injectors, and then cranked the engine for 10-15 seconds using the starter. This will allow the oil pump to begin drawing oil through the system without the engine running. Do this 3 to 4 times.

@DIYMagpi thank you so much!! I subscribed. your prompt response really helps!! Do I need to do something to the lifters? My Harley is a 2020, and destroying my bike will be a nightmare
@DIYMagpi6 күн бұрын
You can soak the lifters in oil. But in all honesty priming, it will be enough. The priming process pushes oil to all the right places. Be mindful to check oil levels after priming

You have to put sportster transmission fluid in the gearbox instead of engine oil
@DIYMagpiАй бұрын
Thanks for watching. Please subscribe if you haven't already done so. Since 2010, I've been running all my sportsters on 20/50W engine oil without any issues. I suspect this goes back to the great oil debate. Straight from the Harley Davidson manual "If it is necessary to add oil and Harley-Davidson oil is not available, use an oil certified for diesel engines. Acceptable diesel engine oil designations include CF, CF-4, CG-4 and CH4. The preferred viscosities for the diesel engine oils, in descending order, are 20W-50, 15W-40 and 10W-40. "

Hi, why my speaker doesn't work but the microphone works?
@DIYMagpi4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already done so. Two reasons that may be the cause of your issue, 1. The speaker is damaged via water or failure. 2. The pins on the speaker are not connecting to the contacts. You can try removing the speaker and bend the pins away from the speaker so they make contact with the connection points. But be very gentle when bending pins .
