Most people will find it useless for bubble bath. A bathtubful of their water has enough "hardness" to turn all the soap into curds and then scum, instead of suds. You can WASH WITH liquid soap just as you can with bar soap in the bathtub, but when you rinse it off you can expect the bath water to turn it into scum and a ring if you don't clean it off. If bar soap doesn't leave your bath water bubbly, don't expect liquid soap to. You CAN make it into a bubble bath if you use ENOUGH soap for your water hardness (or use soft water), but that can be a LOT. And even if you succeed, what you wind up with is very soapy bath water -- like dish or laundry water, with the same grease-cutting effect. Commercial bubble baths make suds on top of the water with an amount that's too little to be much of a grease cutter in the water. So if you use actual soap (such as liquid castile) to make a bubble bath, better rinse under the shower afterward. Also, if you use it to wash dishes by hand by the method shown in the video, mixing it with a sinkful of water, if you wind up with no suds, then unless you mixed it so quietly as to avoid getting air bubbles in the water, it means you don't have enough soap in there to clean anything.

Mostly not bad, but one suggestion stuck out as horrendous: machine dishwashing. Either you don't use enough soap to do anything (and would be better off running the dishwasher with plain water), or you DO add enough to do one thing: lather up the machine and its contents! Dishwashing machines are simply not built to work with soap or anything that can produce a significant amount of suds.

I never knew what it was, but I just read a book on shampoo alternatives that offers it as a solution. Can’t wait to buy a bottle now that I know I can use it to ditch sooooo many other toxin filled products!! 😁

Do you know if there is a way to diy containers like these? I have a lazy susan organization problem (that's the first step, right? Admitting there's a problem...lol). I'm also on an extremely limited budget. I can't pay around $13 per container, unfortunately. So far, I haven't found a diy solution for these containers, so I was wondering if you had any ideas.

Hi Shirlee. I love flour sack towels. The ones at Walmart in the kitchen towel section are awful (scratchy and nonabsorbent) but the ones in the sewing section are the real deal. They're truly 100% cotton that softens with age. They come in two different sizes, two to a package.

I can't agree with the tip to not sort laundry, and I wonder why it has been a problem for me and not you? I find that jeans release a lot of dye which turns other clothes gray over time. Also, denim is so sturdy, especially the kind with rivets, that it will shred more delicate fabrics especially anything with lace or printed logos or thin knits. The only reason I sort towels into a separate load is to avoid their lint getting on things which might hold on to lint, or because they dry so much slower. I do sort some whites into a separate load if I intend to bleach them. Mostly for me that means cotton socks, or stained white towels/washcloths. Many fabrics should not be bleached, even if the color is white, so I don't call that the "white" pile, but the "bleach" pile.
