This was helpful, it must be explained though, you should be connected via VPN on the machine that responder is running on. I had Kali VM running and -I set to eth0 . This didn't work. I had to connect to ovpn on the Kali machine to use -i tun0 then it worked.

Yes, agreed. I used my VPN IP in the URL to capture the hash instead of the remote machine's IP.
