I currently have PA12 180 and am fixing to get the PA14 180 and a motor. 180 drive over 360 is pretty much bullet proof. Will give the 360 few more years to get the kinks worked out. Thanks for sharing your set up.

The new XR is definitely a much better version of the 360 than what initially came out. I'm still sticking with the 180 because I'm hard on my gear but I would feel comfortable going 360 now as well. Good luck with the motor, you're going to love it!

Here is the update post I made a year ago. Not sure if you saw it. - UPDATE There are four original screws that go into the hull that hold down the steering plate. In the video I removed the two in rear and used longer ones to hold down the YakGadget plate. I have since went back to original Hobie screws. Reason being the two screws towards the front have brass inserts and two rear ones do not.

I agree the VMC Crossover rings when used with a #1 or #2 VMC Neko hook gives the best consistent hook ups. My only input is the 7mm ring seemed to work better than the 6mm for 5” Yamamoto senkos. The 6mm was so tight it would occasionally tear the stick worm in half.
@danielperryfishing3046
@danielperryfishing3046 7 ай бұрын
Hmm, may just be a difference in what senkos we use. I throw the XZone True Center Stick. Maybe it's a little narrower.

I wish Rod companies would put all double footed guides on their rods. The Caras are sweet I have the 6174 Heavy Cover Jig rod and use it for Swimjigs in heavy cover and it’s a good Carolina Rig rod. They seem to be a more mod fast than fast which is good with braided lines. Also like the full size guides for braid to leader.

This is just an awesome concept. And there are probably more techniques that you could do with that worm. Is the ringed hook just a hook with a split ring on it? And what is the benefit of that?
@danielperryfishing3046
@danielperryfishing3046 11 ай бұрын
Oh for sure. I have been thinking of different uses since I posted the video. Like a floating worm around the spawn, it’s perfect for that. The VMC Crossover ring does three things. 1. It saves some worms from getting destroyed. 2. I allows you to run a smaller hook because you’re not losing some of the hook bite inside the worm plastic because it’s outside the worm. 3. The worm being rigged perpendicular to the worm rather than along with it like a traditional o-ring is an obviously superior way to rig it and increases hookup ratio. Give them a shot and let me know what you think. I swear by them.

@danielperryfishing3046 11 ай бұрын
Sorry, I reread your comment and realized you were talking about the ringed hook and not the band. I think they're bigger up north but I saw Seth Fider using them in a video. Seems like they give the bait a little more action and the fish a little less leverage. I guess why no use them you know?

If you can swing the extra $50 I’d say go with the expert. There is a bigger difference between the Lowrider to expert than there is expert to Cara. From what you said you want the 6’11” Bayou. It’s their frog rod. The 6’10” head turner is a little more of a moderate action.

Not sure. But, I wouldn't trust it. Sched 40 is what 99% of houses with PVC have. Sched 80 is thick and rigid. Then, there is the electrical ENT pipe that I've seen some folks use. Right now, I'm leaning towards Sched 40 for the buiid I'm getting ready to do.
