I am a lifelong American who has seen a lot of Canada, all ten provinces from Prince Rupert BC to Channel-Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. I THINK anyone WANTING to leave Canada is someone Canada can get along without.

Just back from a few cities in Spain and boy were they rude and unhelpful. Put us off going again. Tourists do not know the UK. London is not the UK it is a fast paced business city where people are a bit unforgiving. Most other cities are more relaxed and welcoming.

Been going to Greece, and its Islands for many years, starting in the early 1980s....never ever found the Greeks we encountered anything other than helpful and cheerful. First small restaurant we visited on the Island of Agina wouldn't let us pay the Bill for our meal, and to pay next time we came (obvious ploy to keep us coming back!😁). This happened for the next few days. On our last day there before heading back home to England, and we settled the Bill, before doing so, he asked us what we had to eat and drink over the last few days. I knew down to the last beer and food that we had, and recounted that to him, and asking if I had forgotten anything. He said no! that was all OK (he knew exactly what we had all the time). A few years later we visited the Island again on a day trip from another Island, and went to see if the same restaurant was still there.....on approaching he came out all cheery to welcome us "BACK". Even with all the mass tourism since our previous visit, he recognised us.....I think it was he was appreciative of our honestness on our first visit.

I visited most of these countries, and, in my experience, those tourist opinions are nonsense. Americans (as individuals) are the most friendly, hospitable people I ever met (caveat: I am a white male European visiting cities like NYC, LA and Chicago, mostly on business). In my six months working in Paris I encountered rude natives exactly twice and, mind you, i speak no French. Finally, while Greeks are not rude overall, while there I was a target of at least one scam attempt daily, usually by fake guides or taxi drivers.
