This is a great piece. Reminds me of a darker inverse version of Those United in Common Cause. As if this is whats playing for Leda and the others as they confront you, the Tarnished, who they once saw as an ally.

I thought the music was well written, though (and I only mean this so at to provide positive and critical analysis) it does not capture what I would expect from a "Dragonfly Queen". The more legato strings and swelling brass sounds are more indictive of a butterfly, bird, or other winged creature. I would have hoped for sharp staccatos and quick tempo, which would better mimic the flight of a dragonfly. Something almost like Vivaldi's "Storm" (from the Four Seasons). Alternatively, you might have gone in a different direction and started with organs and choir since a dragonfly's wings are built like stained-glass windows, for the first or second phase (depending on how you imagined the fight of this OC Boss to go). Still well done!

I appreciate the critique. I will keep that level of detail in mind going forward when forming new lore scenarios. Perhaps a butterfly would have been more apt for this track as it is slow, mysterious, and alien. Thanks for listening 💚

Feels like the song to a tutorial boss that was once the Duke of the starting zone. You fight him again when leaving to truly start the journey and this plays instead of his previous theme. The final fight with him is mediocre and easy as you watch this once great warrior fail to hold his sword properly.

Pretty good vibes. In the first phase, it sounds like you just invaded narnia or some other high fantasy and youre the bad guy to them. The phase 2 sounds more desperate holding the key elements of phase 1 but i feel there is not enough of the signature soulslike dread . I feel blessed by the algorithm that it recommended to me this channel. I await your future content with great interest.
@MoonlapseGameSoundtracks25 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! This is probably one of the less dreadful tracks I've written, I agree. Phase 1 has more FF7 influence than souls. Elden Ring did move a bit away from that super dark sound though, so that's where I was coming from with the title, but you make a great point. I'm very glad the algo sent you here, I appreciate your comment and I will have more on the way soon 💚

Sounds a tad more like Square Enix than From Software. Also gave me some Duelist of the Roses vibe.

Fair, it is also heavily inspired by FF soundtracks. Lore-wise, I was thinking more Elden Ring but you definitely have a point. Maybe I'll add that in the title next time it's the case. Thanks for listening! 💚

The tragedy of this track is definitely not lost on me. Such fantastic orchestration! It's so beautifully painful, and I love it. I was surprised by how tame the beginning of the second phase is, and I think it makes for a nice subversion as the context of the fight you describe changes <:D! Simply fantastic, Moon! The first phase is just so hypnotizing. I love how it keeps escalating, getting bigger and bigger, grander and grander (like the Shepherd Scale <:D!). It's fantastic. The second phase enhances the feel of the track so much, the ending portion being so epic and final. It really paints a picture of this foreboding danger that's so threatening, yet impossible to not look at. Fatally beautiful. The mix is really crisp and well-balanced. I love how the choir was placed in it!
