This hostel you feel safe? I will be there next week.❤

I felt very safe at this hostel and the surrounding area. I was able to walk alone, as a woman, late at night within a mile of the hostel. Boston is reported to be one of the safest cities in the country, if not the safest, for women to walk alone. I completely agree with that, and the hostel is no exception.

That place is like heaven! What an incredible place! 😁😁 When one day I'd go there, what would be good options for staying there and what other place could I visit? Since it would have to be like a week long holiday.

There are hotels within walking distance to the entrance of the park. I’ve stayed at one of them before (I can’t remember which one but it was nice). The metro line (subway) is also within walking distance of the park. You can take the metro to various parts of LA. That metro line is the purple line (they are all color coded). It will take you into Hollywood, where you can check out the Hollywood walk of fame. It also runs all the way into downtown LA, where you can connect to other metro lines. For a week’s stay, I would say to check out the walk of fame, Griffith observatory, La Brea tar pits, and the Santa Monica pier. LA is too large to see everything in a week, but the places I mentioned are frequently featured in movies and tv shows, so it’s kind of cool to say you’ve been there.

@@maven22 I completely understand. It's been years since I've been to Universal Studios Orlando Florida, and they've added so much including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Next year they are adding a whole new park with even more Harry Potter. I'm hoping to go once they are done and spend a week there as well.

Apparently, you don’t need to consider weight at all? Even if you had unlimited room to pack everything in your house, what is the weight limit?
@NervousNessie
@NervousNessie 14 күн бұрын
Every airline has different weight limits for checked luggage and carry on luggage. The way I determine it for myself is if I can pick up the bag without any struggles. If I seem to struggle, or if I’m in doubt, I’ll weigh the bag and check what the limits are.

I love bag reviews! And everything related to travel 😊 Lately I've become disappointed with the peak design travel backpack. It's weight when empty is too much. And when packing it, it's quite uncomfortable to wear. The straps are not good enough and the buckles don't hold the straps tight all the time. I do like that this bag has the back ventilation. At least something to not make my back sweaty instantly 😉
@NervousNessie
@NervousNessie 17 күн бұрын
I hate that you’ve become disappointed with the Peak Design bag. I still love mine. I will agree with you that the bag is a bit heavy when empty. Also, the straps do become loose when you wear the bag for long periods of time. I’ve found it handy to let the straps dangle a little so that as you’re walking, you can tighten them as needed. If your straps are really loose, maybe reach out to the company and see what they suggest?
@maven22
@maven22 17 күн бұрын
@@NervousNessie they are a bit in between. They are not too loose, but I adjust them while wearing them. I'm always on the look out for new bags and maybe I'll sell the peak design at some point.

Loved the trip! Looking forward to some review videos. 😊 Do you use neck pillows for the train or flying?
@NervousNessie
@NervousNessie 21 күн бұрын
Thank you so much. Review videos are definitely coming soon. I used to have a neck pillow that I carried with me when I first started traveling. However, I quickly got rid of it. I found that it was a hassle to keep up with since they are kind of bulky. If you get one with a snap, you could hang it off your luggage, which is what I did. However, when walking through an airport, I found it catching on things as I walked. I also thought it was a little hot when I wore it. Overall, I feel like they are more of a hassle than they are worth.

Would this bag fit under the aisle under seat? Thanks for your video!
@NervousNessie

You’re welcome. When I travel with it, I have it completely stuffed full. It fits under the seat, but I have to force it. The overhead bins are usually full on the flights, and I don’t want to have to check this bag. So I push it under the seat with my foot. However, if the bag isn’t packed correctly, it could damage the contents inside.

Thanks for sharing. I stayed at Billie's Hostel in the summer of 1998 while I was on nine weeks backpacking trip in North America that started in Seattle going all the way up north to Fairbanks, all on surface (Greyhound, Alaska Railway, Ferries) except for a flight originating in Tokyo where I lived at the time. I've developed very high fever of 104.7F while staying at Billie's and Billie was kind to give me a free ride to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital where I was treated for half a day at its ER. I now live in a very hot and humid tropics of Bangkok, Thailand (my birth home). Alaskan landscape, scenery, climate and people all feels like a distant past and unreal now living in Southeast Asia. Your video brought back all the nice memories from my 1998 trip.

In most cities in the US, it’s pretty safe to walk around. But you’ll want to do your research first, because even in safe cities, there always seems to be areas that are less than savory. If you’re interested in seeing a high school or college football game, you definitely want to watch it in a city or town that has football culture imbedded in it. This is most common in the southern or Midwest states.

Very good tips! Agree with them fully. The apps are very useful. Google Maps also shows the same information as the apps. But, may not always be up to date. Some apps in the Netherlands don't give up to date information to Google do you cannot rely on that completely. For the route and the stops it is great. Here, public transport cards are very important. It is good to research it before traveling.
