My husband used these plans from woodprix and he's very satisfied. However. I love Yours !

Very nice! What did it end up costing when it was all done?
@pierrelemoine9864 ай бұрын
@@jhyzerfliphymel about 3k Canadian. Could have done it cheaper with fewer mistakes. 😋 I realize its not cheap but its worth protecting my investment. Plus these boats don't require gas or much upkeep so thats a factor to consider

Well we’re in Canada… there are a ton of wasps hornets and murder hornets

Me too, the shed has been up for over a year with no issues. Even if it did a can of wasp spray that shoots 30 feet would clear it out.

hey man, just got a question. It says on navarre kayak page that the bracket won’t fit the garmin striker 4 transducer. Is it a different bracket or the same one?
@Backlashed2 жыл бұрын
You say this will work for the Garmin CV, but it think you meant the 4 plus, the CV actually has a different, larger transducer (GT20).

Yup that's right. I added a correction to the description after I posted the video.

It would help if I knew which way to mount it

What happens if you just glue the transducer to that black plastic base and feed the cable through the hole?. Or even better, stick the transducer directly to the bottom of the kayak with jb weld or some hard expoxy? Would that work?
@pierrelemoine9863 жыл бұрын
Gluing the transducer to the bottom is an option. However in my case I have two boats and want to move it from boat to boat. In cases where the transducer isn't glued to the bottom I wouldn't rely on cable tension to keep it in place. It might work but that's a lot of tension on a cable that isn't designed for that purpose. The reason this works is it clamps down on the boat hull to keep the unit in place. Of course if you glue it to the bottom of the hull that clamping wouldn't be needed.

Just ordered can’t wait to put it on the kayak been using a side mount this will be much better

I have the same yak and finder and did something very simular... great minds think alike I guess lol... only difference i did was turn the transducer around... the flat back actually butts up perfectly to the factory transducer mount and the two 90 degree angles keep the transducer perfectly perpendicular to the boat/waterline without the need of anything to support under it... one might think this wouldn't work cuz the ducer is facing backwards but it doesn't matter as its cone is not direction specific

been hitting my transducer on my truck rack even with my DIY mount. This is definitely the way i need to go. thanks for the video

Correction: this appears to be unique to the 4" Striker 4. Striker models larger than 4" have a different transducer that have an entirely different mount.
