You're absolutely correct. Lucky the one I did the video on is still around, but there have been so many that have closed down across the UK. Its a shame as they are great places to meet new people and relax in.

It was definitely the right decision to make Pikachu the mascot. For some reason of my own, it just fits.

Hi! I know this interview is over 2 years old at this point. Is it true that David was the voice for Xiahou Dun and the Narrator of Dynasty Warriors 3 (2001)? It certainly sounds like him! If so, is there anything he could share with us about the English Dub of the game? The voice acting for DW3 is legendary and we have a large community of people dying to more 20-odd years later!! :)

So, from what I could find is on the "Allthetropes" website, it says Xiahou Dun's English voice actor was Kirk Thornton. The narrator was possibly Jamieson Price, who voiced a few characters in the game. Hope that helps!

It's at the Royal National Hotel. Closest stations are Russell Square or Euston Square, if that helps at all.

I’ve been to NQ64 a couple of times. The first in Soho, the next 2 in Shoreditch. Looking to go back up on the 2nd of December and wow it’s a lot of fun. For me, Time Crisis 2 and 3 as well as House of the Dead 2 I’m looking forward to revisiting, but the other ones I’m excited to go back to are Point Blank 1 and 3. Never actually played Point Blank until then and I regret never having played before, now I completely get why most say it’s one of the best light gun series.
@HowToGameDifferently
@HowToGameDifferently Жыл бұрын
I've never tried point blank. Will have to keep an eye out for it next time. Think Time Crisis is always highlighted as the shooter to play at any arcade, similar to house of the dead as the horror game to play. Both great venues and I found the staff at Shoreditch to be very friendly as well.

@@HowToGameDifferently It’s very much a challenged base lightgun game. No bad guys, no set story path, just a bunch of challenges that will (definitely with some of them) test your aim and skill. It could sound mundane, but it’s actually really fun. Like, really fun. I love that they have the first Time Crisis in Soho (for context on how surprised I was, I’ve beaten all of the time crisis games and in one credit…I hadn’t even seen a glimpse in person of a TC1 cabinet until I went back in around June. That’s how rare (at least around West Sussex) I found this machine to be, even during times I remember like 2009, 2010 I still had never found it. Now I can say I’ve beaten all 5 games in the arcade. They even had a Fix it Felix jr game at Shoreditch…I didn’t know that was now actually a thing. Oh and the staff at the places are top notch. What were your top 5 arcade games you played there?

The pop up book with projector is such a cool concept. Definatley isn't something I'd see myself using by myself, but with a kid or as a gift for someone I'd be down with that.

If I'm ever in London, this would be cool to do. It reminds me of a similar bar or two in the central city not far from where I live - I don't know why I stopped going to them, maybe just evening outings or going to bars lost their appeal to me, which is a shame because the games and systems are very similar to NQ64.
@HowToGameDifferently
@HowToGameDifferently Жыл бұрын
Think the appeal becomes less in age to be fair. I'm not really a go out late type of person, but I've recently tried to push myself to go to more places like this to explore and try out.

Gives me a serious Lazer Quest vibe from when I was a kid (in a good way). We've got a few similar places here in Toronto, but most have a cover charge & then free play on the arcades. That might sound good but since they're downtown the main demographic is college kids who don't know how to handle their booze, so you end up with a bunch of semi-functional arcades which can kinda suck. Seems like that isn't an issue with NQ64, will have to keep it in mind when traveling.
@HowToGameDifferently

Yeah I can see the connection to Lazer Quest with the neon walls, etc. That's a shame to hear about the one in Toronto. Hopefully it improves over time!

Hey, thanks for the comment. I hadn't heard of it before. Just looked it up and was about to buy a ticket, but it looks like there's a train strikes happening that day sadly ( I would be travelling from London). Cheers for the heads up though. Personally, I'd like to know if Garry Chalk every got and/or needed to get Peter Cullen's blessing to voice Optimus Prime before Armada, the first part of the Unicron Trilogy, first aired
@HowToGameDifferently

That would have been interesting. Sadly, Garry never really mentioned it to me. From what I've heard from most Voice Actors, the whole blessing thing isn't so much a thing.

@@HowToGameDifferently It should be. The mans part of a legacy. It doesn't matter if its live action or voice acting; the passing of the mantle is a sacred thing. I mean, think of how much it would've meant to Will Friedle if Kevin Conroy had given him HIS blessing
@HowToGameDifferently
@HowToGameDifferently Жыл бұрын
@turbokid991 without a doubt. Not to say it doesn't happen, just not heard about it much. There was a really good interview with Bret Iwan regarding it (voice of Micky Mouse) who spoke about how he was going to shadow Wayne Allwine (previous voice of Micky), but sadly Wayne passed away before he could. Bret said how sad he didn't get that time to go through the role with him, etc.
