On the second try, I finally watched the ending, and you know, it didn’t become a cooler moment for me. I understand why people were moved by the moment of self-sacrifice of Fives, Hardcase, Heavy, Thorn or Echo: they themselves made the decision to die in order to complete the mission. Nothing like that is felt here, because the governor made this decision for Kanan, against his will. Moreover, he did not have to die at all. Why the hell was he even staying on that roof? Oh, he was trying to contain the explosion? Ladies and gentlemen, the blast wave was already spreading slowly at first. Kanan (Caleb) had plenty of time to join his rebel friends and fly away within seconds of hitting the fuel tank. Rubric “Suggest if you criticize” In order for everything to look convincing and offensive enough, Kanan himself had to plant explosives around the perimeter of the warehouse, taking advantage of the opportunity. During the retreat, he had to be wounded in the leg or concussed in order to lose the opportunity to escape. And then, in the face of death at the sight of the paratroopers surrounding him, he would have to set the detonator into action, dying, but taking with him all the hopes of the Empire!

I much prefer the original Clone Wars media but I get why the chip idea can make things a little more interesting but I prefer them just following the order just because since its a comment of what happens to servicemen when they put their superiors and duty itself above your own conscience, because that's what happen in Germany in ww2. You had soldiers and generals do such awful horrible things because they were so indoctrinated and always falling back on the claim I was just following orders. That and I much prefer the clones had a sense of identity and despite being bred for war and being indoctrinated this was still something they chose because not all of the clone troopers follow through on Order 66. I personally don't care for the brain chip because it removes the agency of the clones and make it seem like it wasn't their own doing which I felt you have these relationships between the Jedi and Clones and I felt the pre-brain chip was them being challenged on how deep these relationships went. You could have the clones have a multiple reasons for being for or against Order 66 because even for German soldiers they at times did horrible things with their unit because they didn't want them to hold such a sense of burden in doing such terrible deeds. In this case, you could have the clones have a million different reasons for going in either direction. But that's just me.

even though the storytelling of this series was at some points a little weak, i think it was a decent enough watch. the strongest characters in my opinion where baylan skoll, shin hati and sabine wren. i really wonder how they continue baylan's story without the late actor. he did a remarkable job in portraying his character.

The end of this episode always gives me chills. Even if I’m just skipping through it. They didn’t need to ball this much with the score but they did and I will always be grateful. The only Disney Star Wars product that is actually good.
