It's so apparent that Ben treasured this song. Despite being clearly unwell, the venue and band that he found himself in, both of which were (respectfully) a million miles away from his rightful place as a superstar, he ensured that he delivered a lead vocal and interim vocals that elevated his stature above all those around him.

Absolutely & Benjamin put a lot of depth and feeling into his vocals while Ric did not. Ric always sounded like he had a sinus cold, full of nose congestion. RIP Beautiful Benjamin ♥️❤️♥️🍾🍾🍾🍾🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️❤️♥️

@@catmip Yeah I go back and listen to his younger days with the Grasshoppers & Mixed Emotions and I just can’t believe how Ric robbed Benjamin of his writing capabilities. No disrespect to Ric and I’m glad wounds were mended before either man passed away, but it was wrong of him to hurt Benjamin the way he did. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️RIP Beautiful Benjamin❤️❤️❤️

I remember how the mainstream media/music industry had us all thinking this was sung (along with all the other Cars songs) by Ric Ocasek. They just used Ben and he was by far the more talented singer.
