Hello, Gad. I always enjoy studying your playing in this beautiful session, and trying to come close to copying it to further my own playing. Is the attached microphone wireless? Do you know the brand/model of the mic. It works beautifully in this setting, almost invisible.

It's not just the microtones, the "sayr" or melodic progression is markedly different between the three. Abu Ata is not the equivalent to Bayati/Ushaq. Shur is.

Most of all, this deep and beautiful album reminds me of Munir Bashir's rare masterpiece "From Maqam to Raga". A truely spiritual work of art.

Just what I needed! I've played the 5 string banjo for awhile. This helped me alot! Especially as far as how to position it and myself as it is so different from my small but heavy resonator banjo.
