I love the drip on this guy driving in that cool car at the start! You're not fooling me Data East, those are clearly the ghosts in copper get ups haha. There was a pretty neat game Boy version of this which completely re-did the graphics and I think added some more mechanics?

This is a very slightly updated version of 3D Frog Man, a Pac-Man clone that was derived from Webfoot's earlier 3D Maze Man that spun off into a mini-series of similar games, including a Christmas edition.

I actually attempted to go beyond the 2nd Grapes, which at that point, the ghosts start to go faster than you, even when you aren't eating dots. With save states, I managed to go past the 5000 point items (Which was a Galaxian with the top trimmed off, which that and the key had swapped places), and found a glitched bonus item which gives out about 1000 points or something like that. According to a sprite sheet the glitched item was supposed to be an ice cream sundae or something. Also soon after the grapes, the ghosts will flash rainbow colors when a power pellet is consumed.

Of particular note is the Japanese release which is just called "Sh*t" and has box art stolen from some random thriller novel.

Finally. The Pac is back.

Aside from the (kind of trivial) critique of the movement, the graphics and sounds are remarkable, considering it's just PETSCII and BASIC.

Incredible that a game with this aesthetic was made in 2006: too new to be a impressive DOS game but too young to be a indie developed throwback style! I immediately thought Bug just before you said the same haha. PARTY TIME.

It's like a Jr. Pac-Man 2. The dodge roll is a nice mechanic akin to the jump in Pacmania. Like you said, it mitigates the problem of having such a big maze. I can't wait to try it out. :)

This game reminds me of Ms. Pac-Man for Super Nintendo and Mega Drive but improved, I'm glad there are people who still remember the local cooperative

This looks really cute and it's interesting to see a fangame that pulls some inspiration from Adventures in Time! It's probably what I would consider the 'definitive' take on the classic Pac-Man formula in terms of visual design and Maze mechanics. I just wish the game had a better overall title as whiny as that sounds. It makes looking up information about the fangame extremely difficult. It kinda feels like an issue most unlicensed games/fangames suffer from when it comes to Pac-Man. 'Adventures with Pac-Man' or 'A Trip with Pac-Man' would be a bit more distinct, I feel.

Very neat video! I should give this a go at some point, as I've always been a fan of arcade Pac-Man in particular. Have you considered taking a look at Champ Pac-Em and/or Champ Ms. Pac-Em? Those were two clones I hold close to my heart as I grew up with them and I don't see much modern coverage of them these days.

Thanks for making this wee series. I came across it a couple of days ago and have now watched em all. It's amazing just how many crap Pac-Man clones there are. I suppose it just goes to show that the surface simplicity of the original belies the sophistication underneath. It seems to take a lot more talent than most of these 'devs' presume it would!
