I think one of the biggest takeaways from this election is how close some traditional blue states and counties almost flipped. NJ and NY especially are interesting because (from my observations) the people there aren’t even that conservative. They are just annoyed that the democrats either at best don’t have their best interests in mind or at worst are making it very clear that they aren’t interested in your demographic

That makes sense, given how Maine sends electors based proportionally on votes. Scaring the reds away from the polls changes the composition of electoral votes blue in a more measurable way than in other states.

@ Exactly. We also had a chance to flip a Senate seat. Angus King is a Dem in all but name, and he’s most likely going to die in office this term (he’s 80). We had Demi running as a Republican and she came very close to beating King. There’s a voter ID provision in the works here that’ll hopefully help flip us back red, and we’ll replace our Communist Temu-brand Hillary governor with someone good like Moody. We’ll be back to a full red state in a couple years.

As a Republican and conservative it is never fun for your party to lose the elections. There are tens of millions of our fellow Americans that are not feeling heard just as we didn't in 2008, 2012, or 2020. Irrespective of control of the branches of government you need a United population to accomplish a lot and to move the needle. We need them just as they needed us but we let the sewn divisions keep us from each other. Our weakness was and remains our inability to embrace and find common ground. Families and friends have turned on each other, and many people have felt disenfranchised time and again during elections and especially in the past 25 years. Being in someone's face, laughing at them, driving more wedges, that will never work to anyone's advantage. Humility, being magnanimous, and having an ability to bridges gaps is tremendously important. Remember that, we are together, we cannot isolate and expect to move forward.

@@ViktoriousDead Wrong, we united after Pearl Harbor was bombed, we united after 9/11 and we need to find ways to find that spirit of unification outside of tragedy. We see it during natural disasters, we see it when there a problem within our own communities when something bad happens to a family we all know. This country needs it's leadership to find ways to actually invest in the nearly 70 million other people that didn't vote like we did, they need to harness the American might, our intellectual capital, and our sheer tenacity. We can absolutely do this together, they are our neighbors and families and friends, we need them not for some unforeseen enemy down the road but for the amazing future we can create it everyone works together in unison towards a common goal. I don't invest time or energy in defeatist attitudes, I don't agree with otherizing our fellow countrymen, and I sure as hell will never agree that we are so far different ideologically that we cannot find a common ground. We're the USA, not some developing country without a purpose, there is no choice but an imperative.

Just had a hard hit from a hurricane in the mountains the federal government is proving to be a help to the upper class.I had ABC plans and got to C, my best decision was having 40k of lithium volts which gave me 15 days to just go dark and understand the change. We were doing little things like providing ice to people needing cold meds and recharging phones and radio batteries to people that had to get out went a long way for recon.Getting to using water from gutter piping to flush with was interesting never thought a entire 250 million old river would be useless and a drought would come the very next day 800 gallons of rain barrels with only 1 gallon replaced now after 36 days
