This tutorial style was wildly like.....the best ever to follow? I'm a little unbelievably shocked right now. Wow. Okay, so here's a request: Show how to mark your creationss for UV unwrapping and maybe how to low poly it. :3 >.>

Please do more of these, great "back to basics" videos. @10:20 The software should not allow this to happen. It should stop the mod at the point were the object's "surface flow" is violated. There are many examples where the software allows you to do something it shouldn't. Its not really smart software is it? Maybe AI will help solve that problem. Since starting with 3DSMax in '96 I have seen so much of this.

Never knew about your channel before. These screwdriver tutorials are a godsend - because I'm making some models for work and want to save the time it'd take me to figure this out by myself. I gotta check out more of your stuff!

You need to define "clean geometry", if it's not 'all quads, no poles'

Leaving a comment because it was requested.This is great, but I wonder specifically in the last example with the boolean modifier if this is "good" geometry? It appears that the sizes of the quads are very uneven. I'm not very experienced but I would imagine it would be cleaner to have a more evenly distributed top face.

So... Blender 4.1.1 restored the "Shade Smooth" feature which was lost in Blender 4.1?! And what about the "AutoSmooth" feature? Still lost forever (I don't give a f**k to the modifier version or the geo nodes)?

It is just support edges to isolate problematic wizened faces, same case at 5:15 (Actually I don't understand what he said in that part.)

Amazing video but I think the size of the textures matter if you are doing some professional work, especially for games. Some textures are 4K and this increases the size immensely.

the answer is *it depends*. if you're aware of the problems with tris and ngons, then it's fine to use tris and ngons when you'd not face those problems. especially if making game assets where both quads and ngons are gonna end up as tris anyway.

Has anybody tried to write a funcion which detects when new vertices appear outside the face and auto triangulate? There should be (and maybe is?) such option in the subsurf.
@MrJamergamer
@MrJamergamer 21 күн бұрын
yes triangulation algorythms exist and a rendering or game engine will triangulate the resulting mesh regardless, its just better to decide the triangulation yourself to avoid shading and teselation issues

I tried to redo everything in the exact same way, only I don't understand why if at the end I close and reopen the file if I try to start the animation, blender crashes. in any case I managed to complete the rendering, only I can no longer reuse the file

Do you have any idea of how to make a fluid stick to a surface and shimmer. Im trying molten metal passing through honeycomb and sticking and shimmering but I’ve been trying for days and can’t do it.
