Dralnu is a fantastic mid-power commander. I built him with a pile of bulk commons-uncommons that either give opponents a poison counter or cards with proliferate. I avoid the problem of his downside by not casting him at all until there is a graveyard with good enough cards to play and/or a counterspell.

Your video was randomly recommended to me so I thought I would give it a watch. I liked these recommendations, I have been trying to make a mono coloured deck for each colour and was really struggling for green but I think the Emissary is perfect for what I wanted! Good video. To be honest, such generic picks are pretty disappointing. Every one of these commanders is literally the most popular commander for their tribe and a lot of them are pretty popular tribes. What about stuff like Tawnos or Radagast for birds and beasts, and Runo Stromkirk for sea monsters? ? Or more interesting commanders for popular tribes, like Ib Halfheart for goblins or Polukranos Reborn for Hydras? Videos like these do not increase my confidence that you're not just trying to get sponsorship money.

Nadu was an auto include. Dockside and Jeweled Lotus have been in the conversation of banning since their releases. Mana Crypt is almost as old, is as powerful if not more powerful, and just as iconic as Sol Ring. Banning the prohibitively more expensive card, that's arguably more powerful, was the right choice. I, like most people, who aren't upset about "losing money" understand this was a good ban. The only "bad" thing is that they didn't make these bans sooner. Especially Mana Crypt.
@esconde992212 күн бұрын
overall i feel sour on them, the shakeup and balance is good but if these (save for nadu) cards were problems/concerns like what was said in the article, why did it take them so long to act on it? the nadu ban feels pretty ironic considering how another article said it was changed due to feedback from the casual side and not only did that change make it the infamous card across formats, now it's banned in the format it was changed for.
@douglasboti190812 күн бұрын
you say it like the casual edh players were the ones who tested and pushed for the new nadu version. This card is a mistake, nadu won the last 5 tournaments of the last 8 that happened at my lgs
@esconde992212 күн бұрын
@@douglasboti1908 my mistake, i remembered wrong and worded it wrong, sorry about that. from the article, correct wording: "In one of these meetings, there was a great deal of concern raised by Nadu's flash-granting ability for Commander play. After removing the ability, it wasn't clear that the card would have an audience or a home, something that is important for every card we make. Ultimately, my intention was to create a build-around aimed at Commander play, which resulted in the final text."

Most evil deck I ever built was totally on accident. I built Hidetsugu and Kairi as a clones and big mana deck. The clones were to repeatedly clone the commander for the Brainstorm ETB, and the free cast off the top of the deck death trigger. I thought I'd get to maybe clone my commander a bunch, cast a few free removal spells, maybe take an extra turn for the win, and play with midrange-y creatures like Keen Duelist and Baleful Strix. The results were horrifying. 25 minute turns, constantly keeping track of a dozen triggers and retriggers, drawing extra cards with Teferi's Ageless Insight, flipping the top card and casting giant complicated spells like Mnemonic Deluge and Aminatou's Augury, each Brainstorm trigger requiring planning to make sure the next trigger goes off correctly. I won basically by accident by burning everyone out in one turn just doing that. I took the deck apart that night. No one should be allowed to monopolize the table's time like that in a casual environment.

@Lemon_Sage999923 күн бұрын
You're the kind of player who ONLY plays op value piles with design mistakes in the command zone. This is why we hate your deck. The gaddock teeg hate in the video IS kinda weird. He's not evil, just a nuisance. The decks built around him do locks all the time, so it's understandable why people think HE is evil, but if you're a winona player, you can fk right off

@@CosmicMangoMTG i aint your buddy i dont even know you. What im about to say might shock you to your core, but i tend to be pretty stoked about getting to play a card game with my friends. I couldnt care less what cards they want to play with, that shit is secondary to actually getting a chance to play the game with people i like. I kinda understand one or two of your inclusions for the video, but most of them aren't even remotely decent cards. Most of these cards don't actually do anything unless they live a full turn cycle on the board. Again you actually get to see this shit coming before deciding how you mulligan. So it's your own fault if your struggling with these cards.

You know you play an evil commander when you: - Feel dirty still despite it being a week ago since you last played a game with that deck - You take a 30 minute turn and win the game - The whole time you are doing your heinous acts you tell everyone you hate the deck - You wonder if you have any friends left to play with at the next FNM If you have reached similar conclusions when playing a deck you have than you might have an Evil Commander. - Hidetsugu and Kairi have entered chat. A deck that when looked at makes no sense, a commander that must be always countered or the endless linking of spells may commence and insane abuse of State Based Actions interacting with ETB's and Death Triggers simultaneously ensues. Basically make a clone of your commander= SBA forces you to sacrifice your cloned commander or commander BUT you still get the ETB since it entered play but due to the SBA happening you now also simultaneously get the DT, so stack them how you want... :P

@CosmicMangoMTG25 күн бұрын
That is one totally evil commander, I think I’ve spoken about him before in a previous “evil commander” video.
@B1ngusD1ngus23 күн бұрын
Thats a dumb take dont overexagerate. Its childish. Also grand arbiter is a fucking 2/3 for 4 that only makes the opponents shit cost 1 more. It defenetly does not prevent everyone but the person running it from interacting with the game. Casting grand arbiter only makes the opponents play 1 turn behind and again its a 2/3 for 4. Its the easiest shit in the world to answer, you have at most 4 turns to figure it out and you know its coming before deciding mulligans, if you and 2 or more other people can't figure out how to kill a 3 toughness creature when you know its coming before deciding your opening hand then you're just dogshit at the game with no grasp on how to actually mulligan. That's the only reason why you don't like the cards dude is listing and other extremely innocuous cards. Maybe... fuck idk take out some 4+ mana cards from that pile of dogshit cards you call a deck and at least try to put in some cards that let you deal with creatures that you hate, instead of just crying about it.

Guardian Augmenter's last line of text is super underrated. It protects your Background enchantments on the Choose a Background commanders from Baldur's Gate. Enchantments are already hard to remove and now as long as GA is on the table then it has hexproof. Additionally, if you manage to Threaten or Control Magic one of your opponents' commanders, GA will give them hexproof as well. It just says "commanders you control", and doesn't particularly care about who owns the commander.
@CosmicMangoMTG25 күн бұрын
It’s an awesome card 😊
@zackkelley294024 күн бұрын
The biggest problem with Guardian Augmenter is that it has no protection itself (It's not hard to remove what is essentially a vanilla 2/2). Definitely a unique interaction with stolen commanders and backgrounds though. Any commander with a background or a theft theme (obviously in green) would be great decks to run this in.
@babaXIII26 күн бұрын
Crumble is absolutely terrible. Compare it to the other green artifact removal. Nature's Claim for example.
