Loved at all, but no more than seeing Class 2 regenerised. It was a class that was dying in the eighties, though I did compete in class 2 once in the Europeans in Belgium sometime in said eighties. Forever a class 3 pilot, competing i the sport was the best ten years of my life, both domestically (UK) and continentaly.

Thank you, land sailing could offer a transport solution, by building suitable tracks, around towns and cities. # HeroesAtSea.

Wow!! I want to build a twin land-sailing-boat like the manta twin and go fly on the windy local beach with my girlfriend. Thank you for a great video and lots of new inspiration for a long planed build!

I was riding my bicycle across Highway 50 when I came upon the last day of this. Simply amazing spectacle, I couldn't believe it. One of the sailors even gave me a ride - what a thrill! I'll always remember this special group of folks.

Landsailers play a major role in my book series. After watching this video, I'm surprised by how similar the community feels to the fictional community in my novels! Maybe I transferred that sense of camaraderie from my car-racing experiences. If your car is broken, strangers will boil out of the woodwork to lend a hand. No one wants to race someone whose car isn't at 100% and we all want to see something amazing. You can't have amazing with a broken car. Strangers will help you with their tools, spare parts and those golden gifts of car racing.... duct tape and zip-ties. If you break something major, don't be surprised if the following weekend, people you've never met, arrive with your mutual friends to help you fix it. The universal currency of car guys is beer and pizza. You pay today's helpers in food and beer but also in what you give back to the community. Sailing, as a child, was like that too. Any sailboat that was in distress would be immediately assisted by the nearest craft. I think you *have* to because if you don't lend aid you need to be aware that someday, that *will* be you; and what if no one helps you?

So are there manufacturers or do the races make them them selves?
@MarkAtkin
@MarkAtkin 9 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Polcyn There are manufacturers in Europe, but some people do build their own yachts. Seagull landyachts (www.landyachting.com/) in France are very popular. I don't know about the USA.
