This is pretty sad.

I knew a guy like this once at a place I worked. Came round my house one day. I don't drink myself, but am always getting bottles of drinks from friends and relatives for birthdays etc, so I have quite the selection of expensive bottles in gift packaging on a cupboard. I left him alone for maybe one minute at one point when I had to go pee. He managed to get a bottle of whiskey down, out of the packaging, drank literally half the bottle, put it back on the shelf in its packaging before I was back. Didn't notice it at first, because I didn't expect he would do something like that. Not sure if he's still alive, since I moved to another town shortly after for a better job, but I have my doubts. I wasn't even really mad. Just sad that somebody could get that bad. Felt really sorry for him.
