Good video. Thanks. One question: Why are you talking so perfect in english but your account name seems to be chinese? Is ngrok a chinese software?

Interesting video, seeing you discover Astro in real time. But the title is click bait and you may get some dislikes for that.

is there a way to make it run on a website?

Astrojs? Thought it's just astro and ships zero js... literally zero js. Well, one can add js, react, next, svelte, solid or whatever if one wants. I think you need to watch a few videos on astro and not make one...yet. but I love astro you will also...

in a software career you have to ride the wave you are on, or you'll lose momentum, basically, if you at one point stop looking upward, they will just "park" you where you are and consider you fix role. Starting the promotion engine again will be difficult because you have to come up with new ideas to justify going up, and there is no secret, if you "just" do your job, that means you are usually not trying anything new, while the youngsters are, so they will come up with the ideas, that's why this bias exists in the first place.

Is there a way I can just host over my IP? I only plan on allowing a few people that I know personally use it so I don't have too much of an issue with using my IP

you're mixing up a lot of words and put them together in one pot. Astro is definitely good, but it serves another purpose than NextJS, so a comparison between those two is kinda rough
@owenwexler72142 ай бұрын
it's definitely possible to extend Astro into a lightweight framework for simple apps with something like Preact or HTMX and Alpine together though.
@sasakanjuh766011 ай бұрын
Might be just me, but I definitely missed the part where you explain why Astro is better.. All I see is a demonstration of how to use it, but I certainly don't see any direct comparison or explanation why their way is better..

Correct, but the devX and simplicity for Astro is no comparison. Try to build something similar with Next 14 and see if you can do it in the same amount of time

Tailwind is something you have to use, you can’t stay looking outside and whine about it which is what everyone does. The moment you use it you get it, been using it about 4 years now and not going back and before that it looked like the most disgusting thing I’d ever seen. Love it, can’t see myself writing vanilla css except for niche cases ever again.

Step 1. Click the Lock next to URL on Chrome. Step 2. Site Settings Step 3. JavaScript (Change from Enabled, to Disabled) Step 4. Now AdBlock works again, this especially works well for articles/blogs pages. No, I'm not paying to disable ads. That's ridiculous. *Charge me entry into your website!*

i've had a bad experience with ngrok. Ive opened a ngrok tunnel and got a ransomware. I guess this is not safe. I cant figure out how come they can intercept a tunnel or even the tunnel access.
@TheDutchisGaming8 ай бұрын
You are after all opening up a port to your computer to the internet. If on this Port there is any exploitable software running it could end up getting bad actors in.
@DjGregz818 ай бұрын
@@TheDutchisGaming be aware, ngrok doesnt request you to oper ports on your firewall, or vpn or router. It uses a "token". So in the whole world the only people who know how to reach the tunnel is the software house ;) you are not able to see how the tunnel works as it relies on reverse proxy and the trasmission have no user/pwd/encryption only a token.. this is it

"new Buffer" has been depricated since Node v6. Just use this: const newEncoded = Buffer .from(input[, initialEncoding]) .toString(newEncoding); Also, the "=" at the end is important if you need to concatenate base64 strings. The use of "=" in the binary format doesn't make sense. It has to be padded with zeros "0". Your map of "1111=" to 60 proves this as it is actuall a map of "111100" to 60. Fun fact: Base64 encoding is a secondary kind of encoding relative to ASCII, since you pad (first with zeros, then with "=" symbols) to get base64, but to go back you need to trim (first trimming "=" then trimming zeros). You can't reverse their roles in this regard since the base64 character set is a subset of the ASCII character set.
