No entertainment isn't really a problem on a short haul plane. It's more an issue on mid haul flights like Perth to KUL. I found with the majority of Chinese airline all the domestic flights rare have screen and if they do work there nothing on the screen. Eastern China uses the A321 and those screen don't work. It's only on the wide body plane were the IFE may have something. Even then they don't actually give you head phone to use on a domestic flight. It might be worth keeping the head phones when transit from international to domestics. For international flight if you book early enough they will give you a dietary meal. For the domestic transit I've only rare seen this been offered. Note if you intend to fly Southern China the best option for you is to register as a member. It is literally nearly impossible to select a seat or a dietary meal without this or a travel agent.

Hello! I have flights planned from Richard’s Bay to OR Tambo through the Airlink airline. Since this is domestic, how do I collect my luggage from baggage claim in terminal B, and then transfer to the international side of the airport? After I go from Richard’s bay to OR Tambo, I am going from OR Tambo to the Newark Airport in America.

Those are useful when you have a job out of town and saves you money on motel rooms.

So after picking up my luggage and coming out of the arrival hall, do I turn right and walk a bit further to the Qantas domestic transfer and check my luggage there? Then do I go through security before jumping on the bus to the Qantas domestic?
