The Blackbird had its own special oil. It was thick as ever like STP.

Its certainly an mpressive looking ship, it looks to have all the bells and whistles, but... only having one of them is a big drawback. There will be significant periods where the French will be without a carrier. Its a hell of a lot of resources to spend for a part-time capability. Two good carriers like the QE are infinitely more useful than a single great carrier. The QE class represents the 85% solution, they might not have all of the bells and whistles, but they do have everything you need. Having two of them means you will have much better availability, which has already been proven usefulwhen one of them had to return to port for repairs and the other stepped in to carry out the deployment.

They should build 2 smaller at least 56-60k ton nuclear carriers instead of just 1, that logic makes no sense especially when the RN have 2 (even if their conventional)

Can’t afford it. This shows 3 catapults, and France can’t afford the EML the US and China have deployed, and steam catapult gear may not be made anymore. And 35 Rafales are like what, 4 billion Euros.

Gallic pride again. They can't admit that they made a mistake with the Charles de Gaulle. France can't afford more than one nuclear carrier, and you need at least two carriers to guarantee availability, three if they are nuclear.

Even with two carriers there is no guarantee of availability, it's a hell of a lot better than a single ship mind you. To have constant availability you need 3 but if you want one deployed at sea on operations at all times you need 4.
