Excellent! I like how you illustrated using C#minor pent as the relative to EMaj then moving up to 12th fret Emin pent. I couldn’t get this in listening to the recording and tryin to visualize it. Thanks

Just a good example of what a guitar teacher once said to me. "It's not the quantity of notes, it's the quality!" PEACE from Philadelphia

Well? Great... Except! The hardest part is the last phrase and you whipped right through it. Ahhhh well... Will allow it down and keep watching till I get it!

Really well done with the exception of the last lick. It's way too fast. Can you do it again with the last lick better explained?

you can slow the the video with the settings on the bottom right. the gear icon. set speed to .75 or even .5

Great tutorial, thank you. The last lick was a bit quick, but between your vid, the Rock Camp tab, and listening to the song again, and again, and again, I'm getting there. A big help, thank you.

Shut up and play. The first minute is nothing but talk. Then when he finally got to playing the lead solo, after wasting the first minute; I lost interest because there are better tutorials at KZbin for the same song.

Nicely done and thank you. MANY of us DO care what each individual note is. Those that don't can easily find the lesson they want somewhere else in cyber space.

That solo by Paul is is fucking colossal !!, it's like Jimi before Jimi if you know what i mean ?, totally bad ass, Jimi loved it apparently, it's easy to hear why !!, Peace.

It's one of Paul's best solos while with The Beatles. I'm guessing that he couldn't repeat it exactly again at the end, and that's probably why the first solo was copied and spliced on to the end.

Nobody gives a fuck what each individual note is, dude. Nobody. Not even the Doobie Brothers, who wrote the fucking song. Likewise, nobody needs advanced theory lessons about what key the song is or about the scales. Just say what to do: what string, what fret. Soooo many KZbin guitar tutorials are just showoff goofballs who want to impress the viewer with their skills and fancy gear and aren't interested in actually teaching anybody anything.

Captain Freedom Agree! This is just bollocks. Any fucker can play this or something like it. It's a fucking solo! Express YOURSELF!!!!!
@ianmclennon36029 жыл бұрын
+Captain Freedom Couldn't disagree with you more. Granted, The Doobies don't care, they created it. For anyone else trying to RE-create it, this helps. And knowing the scales also helps anyone trying to learn these things.
@awittypilot89618 жыл бұрын
+Captain Freedom Geez The guy takes the time to show others how to play the tune and you gotta bash him. Living proof that Indians did have sex with buffalo ....... For MY nickel he plays it quickly and if you can't keep up you can always play it over and over if you need to. The guys that list the finger, fret and string drag it out so long that I can't watch it. Easier to play it many times than to drag it out. If you're not an already pretty experienced player you're not ready to learn this lick.....
@keithbryant41938 жыл бұрын
+Captain Freedom Just as I figured. After checking out your Tube page I saw you were a gamer. Nothing wrong with that but I didn't see a damn thing that would indicate you play anything except games. No guitar, nothing. You aren't worth the sweat off a guitarist's fingers. Troll on little man.
@TheRealCaptainFreedom8 жыл бұрын
Keith Bryant I haven't made any guitar videos yet, but I'm about to start. I am admittedly an intermediate player, but I know my shit and when I learn or teach a song, I explain it and show it so that it can be played in a brief amount of time. Both video games and guitar playing also involve fine motor coordination and you've seen what a boss I am at Call Of Duty.

Paul McCartney plays a C Sharp note on the G string on the first descending part of the solo. You can hear it on his isolated guitar track. But your way sounds great. It's cleaner and not as sloppy as Paul's track...but hey he was the bass player. Awesome lesson.

@Jah_Rastafari_ORIG10 жыл бұрын
You've probably nailed this closer than anyone else yet on YT; nice job. One question and a comment: Do you agree that one those first 2 hammers (F-G) that the first one might be closer to G#, or more like halfway between G/G#? I just went back and listened and it does to me. The other thing I wanted to mention-- one of the essential qualities I've realized about Paul's solo here is that he really nails that 60's fast boingy vibrato on several notes a la Danny Kirwan/Peter Green (which almost NO ONE does anymore).
@davewillardguitar10 жыл бұрын
I don't really think so, but who knows for sure, you could be right. If you're hearing the G#, I think it's possible that Paul is bending the G a little bit. He is playing very aggressively.
