OMG I loved every Christmas movie that was made in so happy to see more from them. I'm sad they don't use this style much anymore if at all
@SoManyTapes3 ай бұрын
Agreed. Tim Burtons films:Coraline,The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpes Bride plus a few more were all made with a similar technique. I prefer this over cgi. Theres a much different feel to stopmotion animation. Every character had their own puppeteer and so they all had their own unique livelyness and personality. The hands on approach gave thigs a much more cared for detail. Imo

The puppet used for Marmaduke is also the same one used for Seymour S. Sassafras from Here Comes Peter Cottontail. I’m sure it’s obvious since they’re both voiced by Danny Kaye
@ilikethecokev25 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I think they made it specifically for human characters Danny played in their specials.

SO glad I stumbled on this! I love these specials. Not enough recognition for these artists!

It really is a shame that this special is so obscure because it’s really enjoyable

I don't get it. I thought Danny Kaye was gay and would marry the naked King.

Wow I used to love these as a kid and I'm about to watch this one now but looking back for 1972 I hate to say it the live action scenes look like 1952. No diversity whatsoever but I forgive this one because of the time.
