This is a western ideology. In Indian culture kids are needed at weddings. And it’s good for them to attend weddings

Good tips! Little Kids these days are chaos and i think it's rude to assume your kids are invited. Especially if they can't sit still during the ceremony. I can only imagine a whinny kid screaming during our vows abd as an hsp noise is very distracting to me.

Recently attended a wedding and was put at the table with two children under the age of 4 and their parents and grandparents. It took 4 adults to occupy these kids and I would be lying if I said it didn't lessen the reception experience for my husband and I. My daughter is getting married next year and she has decided to have it child free. I am confident this is the best decision.

Good idea! Kids these days are too loud and out of control. It really ruins the experience for the other guest. Especially when everyone is already emotional and trying to have a good time

If you do this, make sure it’s universally applied. Don’t end up making exceptions for some people and not others, or putting 8 kids in the wedding to accommodate those families. It will cause massive problems.
@Mel-gg3xgАй бұрын
That's true but maybe it will send them the hint they need to discipline their kids😉 jk but seriously i thought about inviting my besties older kids to my wedding because they were important part of my life and well behaved. But other kids hell no
@ecclairmayo415310 күн бұрын
Exactly. I remember it being an issue when I was a kid that my mom would be invited to chikd free weddings and she woukd respect the couples wishes. She would get there, and other peoples kids would be there. One time, she went back just to get us. Of course we were well behaved and the others not so much

I dont undersand whats so difficult about this?! Just put it in the invitations. Its your day so you get to do things the way you would like. I personlly wouldn't attend, but I'd still send a gift and I most certainly wouldn't be butt hurt about it. Its just a wedding 🤷 not the end of the world.

Invite every guest by name. (If you don't know a name, find out.) Only those invited by name are invited. ... Be proactive in getting timely responses so that people know well ahead of time that "There has been a misunderstanding. The invitation is for Marge and Homer Simpson only. Bart, Lisa, and Baby Maggie are not on the guestlist. Do you need a few days to reconsider your response?" ... Finally, after you're wrangled in all your RSVPs and The Big Day is imminent, make a last round of calls "to verify that your party will consist of TWO ADULTS ONLY, namely Marge and Homer Simpson." Share your hope that no guest arrives with unexpected extra people as the extra people would be turned away, which would be horribly awkward for the erring guest. This is code for "You show up with extra people and it's YOU who is going to be embarrassed, not me. Don't try it." ... Get responses by name. You want to know "Marge will / will not attend. Homer will / will not attend." rather than "Two people (could be anybody!) will attend." ... Don't apologize; don't defend or justify. The only reason a host needs for not inviting children is "I'd rather not." The idea that you've offered someone food, drink, and a good time at your expense and they're MAD because your offer isn't GOOD ENOUGH for them? They can get over it or die mad.

For those who want a child free wedding please just say it so parents can decide if they will be come. Don’t say things like “you get the night off”. I think that is rude because some parents work and now your asking them to give up time with their kids for them. Also parents like being with their children so this may not be a treat for them.

“No kids allowed because their behavior” is same as “No African American allowed because of possible mass shooting”

that’s not even relatively the same thing and you know that. all kids act like kids. that’s literally what they do and that’s fine, just not appropriate for every event, especially one that isn’t yours. to even compare that to mass shootings and black people is genuinely hilarious and so incorrect. bye 😭

You seem to assume the rehearsal dinner event hosts live in the area, but how do they find local venues or local caterers if they live out of state or out of town?
@marylut60772 жыл бұрын
The officiant contract (DJ/officiant) doesn’t include appearing at rehearsal so no rehearsal, so what are modern options for the day before event if not a dinner.

Lowndes Grove is a former African-slave plantation. It is named for William Lowndes, a slave owner, son of a slave owner, and married to the daughter of a slave owner. The plantation house, perhaps with slave labor, was built by George Abbott Hall, a slave importer. His firm was one of the largest importers of slaves into America at one time. Today, privileged whites (and others) continue to enjoy their time at Lowndes Grove, without regard for all the misery suffered there by the African slaves who built that plantation. Enjoy your party!

Very traditional to do formal invitation to the event, so they know date, time, location, and what clothes to pack for it.

@marylut60772 жыл бұрын
@@ruthvansandt9713 not true, Ruth. Only the bridal party attends the actual rehearsal. In low budget dinners or purposely exclusive event, maybe only the bridal party is invited. However, the rehearsal dinner is for the groom’s side to entertain not only the bridal party after they rehearse but others as the budget allows…the groom’s aunts and uncles, godparents if close, other extended family traveling to the wedding, the bride’s aunts and uncles.

Funny actually, that some are in contradiction to each other. For a destination wedding of course brings a lot of traveling and increases everyone's carbon footprint, whereas sustainability tries to limit everyone's carbon footprint. I choose the latter.
@miraemilia37272 жыл бұрын
Also having more than 1 dress contradicts the sustainability aspect quite strongly 🤔

Beat idea ever in 2021. Kids were held to a very different standard than when I was a kid. They get to do whatever they want now days, this is why people are requesting guest not being children.
