So glad i ran into this channel. Thank you. studying to become a (classical 2D) animator there were no classes about video editing, because every frame is planned ahead. 15 years forward in time and i'm glad I found your channel to teach myself the basics that i miss and needed for recent career change.

Great to hear the video was helpful. I've work on a few animation projects and found editing animatics has been a very valuable and exciting part of the process. Cutting live action is fascinating though, especially narrative where there can be unique options based on the different takes.

@jacobpanderАй бұрын
I haven't experienced this, and tried to replicate your issue today but wasn't able to get the syncing options to gray out. What is the source of your audio and video? Perhaps the two sources have different frame rates?

I figured it out. It was not synced on my laptop but the audio and video were linked. Once I rendered it, all was in sync. Thanks for your response. @@jacobpander

Passion seems to be a catch all, and can mean a lot of different things to people. Most creative endeavors are ultimately labor. The question is, what interests you and what motivates you to do the work?

I spent an hour trying to hand-align my audio clips with my video, for a live music show. One of the video sources was a drone camera so there is no audio on that source. These tools look amazing, it would be interesting to see how well they work with wide-shot drone sources.
@jacobpander4 ай бұрын
A good way to sync up your drone footage with your audio is to begin recording your audio on a separate recorder, then stand in front of your drone's camera while it's still close to you and visibly clap your hands so that you capture that on camera while your audio recorder hears that same sound. Then later, when you bring it in to edit, you just line up the clap's visual and audio and you're good to go.

Thank you for this deeply moving film. Henk's narration, paintings, video brought back the grief I felt seeing TV news reports of the defacement of the Mark Hatfield Courthouse: the ugly words, the incoherent anger, the violence, armed confrontations .I live in Seattle now, but I was inside the Hatfield Courthouse many times in the 1990s and early 2000s, representing the Portland League of Women Voters at Federal naturalization ceremonies. The dignity of the courtrooms, the many backgrounds of the presiding judges, the pride of new citizens from as many as 60 countries at a single ceremony as each was introduced and congratulated -- an experience I treasure. The courtrooms and pubic spaces include magnificent works of art by Oregon artists, expressing the spirit of democracy. Sandra (Sunny) Stone's choice of quotation is inscribed on the exterior of the building is prescient: "The boisterous sea of liberty is never without a wave" -- Thomas Jefferson.

Hello Joella, Thank you for watching the film, and for your thoughtful recollections of the time you spent at the Hatfield Courthouse in Portland. @@bobphillips2341 That's great to hear. I wanted to get a feel for the creative process in and outside of the studio by filming both the painting process but also the research and direct engagement with the subject. Not just looking at it from afar, but going into the heart of it, seeking the sensory tone of the environment to bring that into his paintings.
