Thank you for this video. You have given me a few things to think about. Such as when certain craft supplies no longer bring you joy, you can let it go rather than think about the cost of it. Changing my mindset to think about new people who may find their joy with the supplies instead. Thank you again. 💕

Yay! I'm so glad you found it helpful :) It's definitely a mindset change to think about how you feel now versus how you felt when you bought it and accept that difficult feeling that it doesn't have a place in your life anymore. I found Marie Kondo's book really useful for that - you can 'thank' the item for the joy it gave you at the time and then it can move on to someone else :)

I have that journaling/journalling dilemma. It always autocorrects to one l but British spelling rules say 2. Glad it went well x
@StickerKitten15 күн бұрын
Thank you! Haha yes it's a tricky one - 'journaling' is dominant online but I feel like I would naturally write 'journalling' like 'traveling' (US) vs 'travelling' (UK).

What happened with the coloured pencils? Not much of a tutorial - a speeded up silent ten seconds with no advice on using pencils
@StickerKitten3 жыл бұрын
Fair point - I did just colour them in a straightforward way, no particular method used so nothing to add. I am sure you’ll find some other KZbin vids out there with more info on shading and layering colours. I suppose I added it more as a reminder that you can use coloured pencils with stamps as many people default to just markers.

Thank you for the great tutorial - I was thinking how you could make the shaker window look like a lollipop by drawing a popsicle stick on the front of the card just under the window. You could use a pink and white swirl design on the backing card. What do you think? Love, Amanda. :-)

Thank You. One question, do you leave the back of the circle inside the card as is or do you put a piece of card stock over it to make it more appealing?
@StickerKitten4 жыл бұрын
Hi Alana, I've done both before - if it looks ok white I leave it, but if it looks a bit messy for whatever reason I cover it with a circle of patterned paper. Either is fine - whichever suits your project :) Sarah

WHERE TO BAY IT? WHO IS PRODUCER? I AM LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR IT.
@StickerKitten5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mia, it's made by Docrafts - the brand is Xcut. You should be able to find it in most craft stores that sell die cutting machines. In the UK you can get it from The Range or Hobbycraft. If you're not in the UK you might be able to find it online but I'm not sure where would be the best place to look - Amazon may have it in stock. Best wishes, Sarah

HI SARAH,THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I DID GO ON EVERY SITE I KNOW, BUT FROM UK NOBODY WON'T SHIP IT OVER SEA TO NORTH AMERICA. Hi, I enjoyed your video, I like to discover different methods using the oxide inks and you nave shown me a few more. I also have a collection of experiments, I find it quite a let down when a test doesnt work out ,but I keep on trying, have you tried using all the same colour tone for a chromatic combination ? This often turns out to be interesting, thanks

Hi I am teaching a fabric block printing class on the 19th. We are design kaftans with stamps. How can we avoid the ink/paint getting on other portions of the garment? Any suggestions would be so appreciated. BTW I love your work. Ive subscribed.
@sarahdouglas26906 жыл бұрын
Hi Linde, I would make sure to put the foam pad between the layers of the kaftan so that the ink or paint does not seep through. You would have to work in sections and be careful to let the ink or paint dry before moving on to another part of the kaftan to avoid smudging. You could try using a heat tool to dry the area before moving on - but I haven't tried that myself so it may work differently depending on what you are stamping with (ink or paint). Good luck! And thanks for your kind comments :)

Hello there thank you for the lovely tutorial.which fabric did u use here? And can u suggest what kind of fabrics I can use for block printing?
@sarahdouglas26906 жыл бұрын
Hi Dambar, I bought my plain tea towels along with the kit so I'm not sure exactly what type of fabric they are - but probably plain cotton or linen would be best to use.

i have this machine and i find to get it to dail down to 4 (1/2 is so stiff it feels like u would be forsing it this i did not want to do so i disagree yes shimms help it to cut much better so yes u need to use shimms in my opinion and as for cutting round the dies i see that helps just makes more work in my opinion
@StickerKitten7 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzy, the machine is designed so that you don't have to use shims but if you find that they help then absolutely go for it! I've found that mine has been pretty sturdy and lets me run things through that feel quite stiff but if you prefer not to do that you could also try running it through on a couple of rotations to get a cut all the way through x

Sarah as always, I love your tutorials. You are so creative and I always learn something new from you. I love the idea of cutting a little slit in the spine of the card for wrapping twine and such. I don't sew, but I like the idea of embssing the acetate for the shaker card. I so wish you had been on our design team :) Hugs...Janie
