A moment that always stood out to me even before I really started apreciating Benson as I grew older was Mordecai And The Rigbys, Benson comes with the rest of the park members to watch Mordecai and Rigby perform though he really doubts they could make a competent band by themselves, when Mordecai discovers their future selves set them up to do playback and admits in front of everyone what they were doing and rejecting their future selves, Benson claps. And when you get to know why Benson is the way he is towards them, you understand why, they took responsability and chose to do better, the one thing he wants them to do every day, they did then, and he's proud of them for doing it

I don't like her because of the finale She gives things away that belong to Dipper and Ford She gives it to a random guy who she's only met once And then once given the choice to have things fixed and be right, chooses, a reality where everything is, how she wants it That's why I don't like her But I really do understand your point here That episode should not be a reason. People don't like her As you said, the whole episode was to prove that Dipper was wrong But I just don't like her because of the finale I get that she was going through something But that was still... no

She is a child scared of Loosing her brother like she saw Stanley and Stanford do. Was what she did wrong and selfish yes but that doeant make her a bad person. Both Ford and Stanley made deals with him willingly without Bill even using a disguise to trick them. Ford was selfish for that yet he doesn't seem to get hated on. If u don't like mabel ok but then u cannot also like Ford. Simple

MY problem with Vaggie, and not only did you already say this, SHE ADMITS THIS HERSELF, is that THROUGHOUT the ENTIRE season 1, the whooole point of her character is Charlie Charlie Charlie. It’s actually KIND of annoying how that’s her Only Aspect. Vaggie could be so powerful if she would get her nose out of Charlie’s ass.

Anytime I try to even slightly critique Chaggie I’d always get a barrage of people trying to tell me that I’m just mad that it’s because I want to sexualize lesbians. Keep in mind, I AM A LESBIAN. Wanting a complex wlw pairing with ACTUAL chemistry shouldn’t automatically make me a deviant. I hate the way HH defenders have reacted to criticism about Chaggie specifically, so this vid feels like a breath of fresh air

The pacing is really the only thing I can criticize it for, but other than that out of all of the indie pilots I’ve seen, this one hits home, like a Nick/Cartoon Network show from the 2000s or early 2010s and that’s probably why I like it alot, just feels like home yk?

I feel as though if Mucha Lucha came out today, the people who bitch about "Woke"-this or "The fall of Western Civilization"-that would be all over it like crows on a corpse. The main character Ricochet was CONSTANTLY beat up by / in fear of women, and NONE of the lead characters didn't have melanin in their skin.

It was fine as a pilot, and the artstyle and character desings are great. But on my watch, I just didn't enjoy it that much. Having Zach and Caddy in it were definitely the highlights for me, which is kind of an issue. The big issues is the pacing just didn't feel right. I've watched a fair amount of shows with the naige happy friend and cynical friend dynamic- like smiling friends, regular show, sponebob episodes with Squidworth Testicles and SpingeBill as the focus. And compared to those shows, it feels way to drawn out. And it feels like the majority of the episode has the 2 best friends split up, so we miss a lot of good oppurtunities for more back and forth to establish the characters. I guess what I'm saying is it didn't immedietly sell me as a show to be interested in the same way that Smiling Friends pilot did for example. I think if they work on the pacing it could be a cool show.

How about during the climactic court scene in 'Welcome to Heaven' where Vaggie is exposed, instead of recoiling in horror, Charlie shocks everyone by revealing she knew all along. Through a series of flashbacks, it's shown Charlie discovered while tending to Vaggie's wounds and seeing the bloody remains of her wings. Though initially shocked, it forces Charlie re-evaluate her own prejudices, seeing the vulnerability of the beings she once thought of as monsters. Vaggie, touched by Charlie's compassion, something she never experienced under Adam's command, completely fell in love, devoting her new life in Hell to atoning for her past. Amazed by the change, Charlie was inspired to create the hotel, a place where demons could rise like angels could fall. To Adam and Lute's horror, this revelation completely overhauls the case, partially proving Charlie right. Vaggie, being the hotel's first guest, is also its first true success, going from a bloodthirsty, brash warrior to a loyal protector and Charlie's loving girlfriend. Charlie affirms her unchanging love for Vaggie in front of all of Heaven. Incensed by their defiance, Adam mentally unravels over the next few episodes, leading him to launch an all-out assault on the hotel by the finale against Sera's direct orders.

I think it's a little silly to judge Mordecai as a character based on these episodes, in which Mordecai consistently learns a lesson. In order for the show to discuss good and bad behavior we need to first do bad and then do better. Mordecai gets used for this in basically all of the relationship episodes too. Additionally, we're clearly given the impression that Rigby is taken care of constantly by Mordecai. Even in the first episode. Mordecai has to vouch for Rigby and gets him a job too because Rigby won't fill out a job application and won't even accept a rebuke for not doing so. In short, I don't think Mordecai's growing pains are a reason to hate him.

I do think that the hate towards the show is... MOSTLY unjustified. Yes, the original intro (uploaded on KZbin in 2023) had some questionable things that rubbed the Latin American community the wrong way (like the name of the town and some characters) which were eventually addressed and mostly fixed. Yes, the things the VA of Tater said on her Instagram vid response to the backlash were WACK and out of line. Yes, the show itself can be pretty cliche in some areas of its writing. But, for what it's worth, the show, while not quite at the heights of shows like Gravity Falls, Amphibia, Owl House or even other slice-of-life stuff like Big City Greens or Molly McGee, does have a good amount of decent, sometimes even really good stuff within it to keep it afloat. Any similarities it may have to the Loud House and Casagrandes are balanced out by its own little visual and narrative touches. Aside from the episodes that give the titular Primos some individual time to shine and bond with Tater (who is a fun main character to follow despite her faults and has some continuity-based development to her at times), there's some episodes that address some deeper themes like Tater's lack of Spanish language skills (Summer of No Sabo), Nachito's dyslexia (Summer of Lit-Tater-atura) and even some emotional character-driven moments within other episodes (Summer of Cuadros, Summer of Tater Luna). Plus many of the songs, while short, are quite catchy and tuneful. They have this Lin-Manuel Miranda-esque feel and beat to them. Not quite as memorable as the bangers in Moana and Encanto or even Phineas & Ferb or Moon Girl, but some of this show's songs actually kinda got stuck in my head after a listen or two. Overall, once you put the controversy aside and give this show enough of a chance, you'll see it has good intentions and a good amount of heart and effort put into it. Plus, I think that the Loud House/Casagrande similarities were just coincidental as the creator, Natasha Kline, was making the show about her childhood in a Mexican-American family (which was the kind of audience she was catering towards; US people of Latino descent, many of which were "no sabo kids" themselves). I'd say about a 6.5/10, teetering on the edge of good imo.

You know what's silly? If the voice actress just used the broken Spanish as a plot point, then we'd be fine. In fact, that's what the show's been doing. Like, why not use that opportunity to explain the many different Spanish/Latin cultures of North America? I'd dig it. People gave Primos low reviews? I saw some profilic KZbinrs that actually enjoy it.

At least this show makes a number of its own little narrative touches to make it stand out from the Loud House and Casagrandes (Tater's lack of Spanish knowledge, a tiny bit of continuity, songs in some episodes, etc).
