It just shows you don't need expensive things to have a fantastic shave.For me derby stick has the edge over arko creamier lather very slick i pair my budget shave with a Gillette blue basic 3 piece safety razor and a derby extra blade or ladas yellow super cheap but good for a weks daily shaving.

Wow man that is a hella sweet looking shave bowl and i plan on buying one today. BUT i’m new to puck shaving (actually i haven’t ever lathered with a puck yet). And so i’m wanting to ask if you can use a puck good in this bowl? I have a Klar 3oz lemon grass one in particular that i would like to use in it. What is the difference between “Rebrab” and “Barbershop” from Shannon soap?

I found out that a blade hone helps any blade out by a large degree. It allows you to use a blade longer as well. Look it up they are not that expensive from the right seller on e-bay. Use it before every shave and it works wonders! Will turn a not so good blade into butter baby it is so smooth after honing it. Sometimes you think its the razor when probably 9 out of 10 times its the fault of a not so sharp razor blade.

If you experience large bubbles and lather which dissipates too fast, what does this indicate? I usually scoop 1/4 teaspoon from the tub, and spread soap on bottom of bowl “thinly and evenly” . After soaking brush, squeeze out all water, then add from a 10 ml syringe 3 ml of water, swirl soap for a minute or two, add 3 ml more water, repeat, then add final 4 ml water. Should I splay brush in bowl or on face? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Great video Chris. What was that preshave you used? I just bought a GC 76, and it’s been very harsh, compared to my Merkur 34C. The GC has significantly more blade exposure, so not sure if I need to work on my technique, or if the GC is simply too aggressive for me.

The only modern razor I own is a Vikings Blade Emporer which a nice razor. I prefer my vintage Gillettes, the Slim being my all around favorite.

I have heard, from a fellow Greek wet shaver whose channel is "Kostas shaves" that if you combine the top cap of a muhle r89 with the base plate of the muhle r41 you'll get the 2012 version.
