hypixel has lots of plugins and datapacks inplace that make 1.9 and higher basically the same as 1.8, so they removed offhand, they removed the new combat system and pressing right click on a sword would put a shield in your offhand (doesnt block all damage) to make up for being able to block in 1.8 with your sword.

@@BritishChicken6423 I did notice 1.9 + felt more like 1.8 then usual, but the hit cooldown was still pretty brutal. It basically made all of my cps and skill W tapping useless for the most part. I played 1.8 after and it felt so much easier so I think there still is a pretty big difference regardless of the plugins.

@@Knarfel 1.8 is easier to pvp on, and you are at a pretty big disadvantage if you are playing a newer version against someone playing in 1.8. Also I don't think anyone lied to you, they probably just didn't tell you lol
