I know this was 3 years ago but i just wanted to say thank you for showing the time before the shot and the blood trail tracking. I am a new hunter in my early 30s, nobody in my family were hunters and im getting into it and going on my first hunting trip to Georgia in a couple months with a friend and i appreciate real hunting videos without the flashy transitions of the shot then cut to the deer and no tracking, etc. I like to see the entire process along with tips for new hunters but its generally difficult to find because everybody just cuts most of the content because they think its boring or they'll get demonetized. So thank you for showing a good bit of the tracking and for another video of yours i watched where you showed a good several minutes before you actually shot the deer, it really helps. Anyways, I got the grim reaper whitetail special pro series broadheads and have been trying to find videos of their performance and passthroughs. I have a 60lb 29 inch draw compound and 300 spine arrows and im concerned if itll have enough penetration to go through both sides and ive seen a lot of people saying these broadheads dont go through the other side most of the time. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks again

@naps7039 thank you for watching, I have fallen behind in my videos. I don't make them to make money on them, just love filming my hunts and sharing. I have several that I have not posted yet. As for your setup, what bow are you using? All your specs sound great for a pass thru on a Georgia buck. I started using the whitetail special YEARS ago and still use them today. Don't know if you know this but you can shoot any of the grim reaper expandable line as long as the grains are the same. I carry a mix of grim reapers in my quiver. From the 1 3/8 to the big whitetail extreme. All have the same point of impact. As far as the hybrids they fly a little different. Again thank you for watching and let me know your complete bow setup. Good luck in the woods hope you get one.

@@bowhunt2206 Either way, thank you for your content, i find that youtubers that arent in it for the money are the genuine folks and passion beats money chasing any day of the week. Keep up the great work! As for my bow, its nothing fancy and isn't a top of the line bow or anything like that, i bought it from the bear website its called the karnage dynamic. Im currently getting it restrung at my local shop as it started fraying from all the practicing i been doing. I dont want to mess up and make a deer suffer for my incompetence and its why im making sure i can get a complete passthrough with what im working with before i set it in stone y'know? I ordered a practice shot grim reaper field point and once my bow is ready ill end up practicing with that practice point. I just wanna make sure I am getting the right arrow setup with the broadheads as well and if my bow isn't good enough then I guess I can just go with a rifle this year but i really love archery so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks again and I hope you get a nice buck this year as well!
@bowhunt2206
@bowhunt2206 2 ай бұрын
@naps7039 with the speed of that bow and the way you are setting it up, 60lbs and your draw length with a heavy 300 spine arrow you should definitely get a pass thru from 25 yards and in. Even maybe at 30. When I first started hunting with the whitetail special I was shooting a mission x3 at 29inch and 70lbs and was blowing through deer here in florida. I would say your setup is plenty.

@@bowhunt2206 Man thats a relief to hear, I appreciate you taking the time to answer. Oh nice I didn't realize you're also Floridian, do you know of any good hog hunting spots here? Would the reapers do well on hogs as well? My friend has a lease with other hunters in Georgia but i dont know if theyll let me keep hunting out there every year so any tips on finding a location locally would be huge whether for deer or hogs(also having to debone every deer from georgia to be able to bring it back to florida is a pain in the butt especially if you get a nice trophy buck). Sorry for the 100 questions
@bowhunt2206
@bowhunt2206 2 ай бұрын
@naps7039 I don't mind any questions, especially from another hunter. What part of Florida are you in? I live in northwest Florida right on the line of Alabama and Georgia. I personally wouldn't use the whitetail specials on hogs unless they are small ones like up to 150lbs. Anything bigger I would step down to the 1 1/2 or 1 3/8 reapers. I've hunted in some WMAs around Florida some of the best being in central Florida.

Did you fall asleep on the job? We’re you just mesmerized? Savouring every last seconds of the hunt?… If that was me that deer would not get more than 1-2 mouthfuls of corn before an arrow rips through it. Perhaps maybe even before it reaches the bait. Edit: Good watch nevertheless. Albeit I viewed only the first couple seconds and forwarded to when the shot occurred, which was the last couple seconds of the video.
