feel your pain lol, i remember being like that on my first few days of learning. But please, do not give up and be patient with yourself whether you're fingers are hurting or play the wrong note. The more you play, the more natural it becomes. I got mad too, i gave up for a bit, and I forgot all the songs I previously learned. Do not give up, and be mindful you are just starting. Even without an amp, your still playing the right notes, sounding good, and thats all that matters. I know you've likely had everything plugged in, but i was thinking maybe you could try a different outlet. Maybe play around with the volume and overdrive knobs too! Hope you get it workin

keep at it girl! i took like 5 months to be confident at it, you're doing great! i highly recommend power chords cause theyre easy and used everywhereeee (usually) a song that i like that isn't too hard is kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWmqdKmYms2Nn5I (脳みそショートケーキ). I can tell you the notes for the guitar melody (starts at 13s) but it can also be some good practice for figuring out notes from hearing them!

One thing i recommend is to keep your thumb straight on the back of the neck (like pointing at the ceiling) it doesn’t have to be perfectly pointing straight but try to keep it close. Some guitarists like slash and others hang their thumb over the neck for bends and stuff.

I've been playing guitar for a few years now and I can tell you with confidence that you're doing well for how long you've been playing. As long as you put your mind to it, you can learn this and get good! Practice as long as you can each day and I promise you will get better and better without really realizing. One you have the basics down, try playing along and keeping up with tracks you are familiar with. It can be challenging, but it's so worth it when the song is over and you realize you actually kept up with the band's guitarist. I don't know what kind of amp you have, but consider taking it to a tech or a guitar shop and see if they can take a look at it. I would advise calling around before driving somewhere in case whatever shop isn't equipped properly for that sort of thing. If it ends up being broken beyond repair, please look into brands like Marshall and Fender. They can get expensive but certain models are well worth their price tag. Consider a used or refurbished amp for a discount and they can still be like brand new, these can be found on Amazon, Reverb, FB marketplace, etc. If you have to replace the amp you should absolutely be able to find a good amp under $100. And I've never played one, but on Amazon there is a brand of amps called JOYO that a lot of people like for just practicing at home because they're small, they can get loud, and they're easy to travel with. But of course they don't have the best tone, that is one of the trade-offs for the price point (under $50). I also don't know if they last long, being as cheap as they are I would guess their lifespan is probably under 2 years with consistent use. Something to keep in mind. I hope you get these things sorted and keep up the good work!

I saw someone else commented this as well, but if your amp is new it may still be under warranty! Definitely check into that, or return it if that's still an option.

You are doing absolutely GREAT!!! I've been playing for 7 years now (at 16). The beginning is tuff, but keep at it and you'll see progres! Just one little thing i saw, you're holding your guitar pick wrong... it is best to hold it when your pointing finer points downwwards and your thumb is perpendicular to it, the thumb covers the most of your pick. Just search it on google. When i learned how to properrly hold it, my picking became instantly better!

From my experience (a year aprox) I'd say classical guitar, becase the strings sit further from the fret board, and making them sound clear, specially on barre's might be harder for some people at the start. Keep at it!!
@methylenedioxymethamphetame
@methylenedioxymethamphetame 23 күн бұрын
acoustic is harder to begin with because the strings have higher tension, meaning you will have to press down harder than you would on an electric.

I also started my journey with guitar not that long time ago, so I know how frustrating it can be at times, but you will be surprised how quick you'd get better after daily practise even if it's just few minutes a day. Anyway, I recommend you to learn chords first, it would help you a lot later and there's a lot of popular songs you can play with basic chords. Good luck!

Please try and keep going, you're doing okay. I know that the early days of guitar can be disheartening. If you like Green Day at all, try and learn some of their songs. Their music is mostly power chords, which is just one shape moved around, and it can be a huge confidence boost to learn to play a song even if it's an easier one. The more difficult fingerpicking stuff can come later on.
@georgecarpenter9692
@georgecarpenter9692 24 күн бұрын
Also, if you have the amp fixed, try and turn on some kind of overdrive of see if you can get a cheap overdrive pedal. It can mask the mistakes and also makes it sound cool as fuck. They say to not do this because it can make you not learn fully, but honestly keeping motivation going is the main thing that makes people stop playing guitar. So who cares if your playing starts off a little rough around the edges, it'll get better in time.

No comments annoyingly but youtube just randomly gave me this and I wanted to say I remember a few years ago I was the same. Chord changes are hard starting off, but honestly I would say, play it really slowly but try and keep it in some kind of rhythm, even if it's slow. Then you can slowly try and speed up the changes. The main thing is being able to switch chords in time. Also, remember that the shape your fingers are in for those two chords are the same, so try and practice just moving your entire hand rather than putting each finger back on at a time.
@georgecarpenter9692
@georgecarpenter9692 24 күн бұрын
Oh also, with your index finger, you can hold it more flat down to the guitar, and it will mute the other strings from ringing out

Great video! If you have checked that the problem with your amp isn't just a power cable not being plugged in, or anything similar, then it might be a blown fuse in your amp. I would recommend going to a guitar shop and letting them take a look at it. But if you got the amp for Christmas this year then honestly I would recommend returning it, you might have gotten a faulty one, they should not stop working after just a couple of days.

Hey dude , I saw your video trying to learn guitar , youre amazing for a beginner and im proud of your efforts 💯, as an advanced guitarist who was initially struggling to play guitar , I recommend you to check out Brandon d’eon and Bernth, these guys will help you learn the basics easily, and one VERY VERY VERYYYY IMPORTANT THING , ALWAYS use the metronome while practicing, I didn’t and my playing is still a little sloppy, so it’s important to use the metronome and another important thing is to practice scale shapes with modes everyday using 50 bpm and the spider exercises, this will build up your left hand , trust me if youre left hand is good you can easily master Legato and fast runs , you need to learn alternative picking plus a suitable style to hold your pick (I think Brandon and bernth have a video about it) it will help you a lot , I recommend using jazz III picks btw AND THATS IT , GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SHRED JOURNEY 🎸🎸✨( I like your guitar btw , it looks sick , my first one was strat)

I forgot to mention that if you don’t practice regularly you WILL lose your skills and forget what you practiced , next is learn to music theory, trust me it isn’t that difficult to learn and think of it like this , if you learnt a song a month ago you will forgot how to play if you don’t practice it (it’s a harsh truth) but if you learn theory you won’t forgot it at all, and it also matters on what genre you wanna learn , if you wanna be a thrash metal/ neoclassical shred master then you need to follow this but if you wanna do jazz you need to learn advanced chords , patterns and interesting notations. I BELIEVE IN YOU (you can learn songs like black dog by led zeppelin for starters)

i saw your video of you trying to learn guitar, so i have some tips for you as an intermediate guitarist. One thing I completely missed when i first started is that you have to press down on the string to play different notes. It's good to start with easy songs and work your way up. If you're into soft rock, then i suggest "verbatim" by mother mother as a good starter song. If you are into more rock/metal, then i suggest "given up" by Likin Park because it's a very easy song. To mute a string to can hold down on the strings with your left hand but not press it down. I hope i was able to help 🤘💜🔥 ( another thing is, practice makes perfect, you get better if you don't practice, 90% of guitars quit in the first year, set backs are normal so don't take it to heart. Have a good day, and enjoy your guitar. It looks expensive guitar so make your parents proud!!!! )
