Maybe you have to adjust the angle a little bit. It's a little tricky to find the perfect spot.

The mod makes the character model textures for Umah and Kain look better than the cutscene.

You’re absolutely right-the in-game models do look sharper than the cutscenes with the mod. I tried my best to upscale the pre-rendered videos, but with the original 640x480 resolution, this is as good as it gets. Unfortunately, those CGI sequences from the PS1/2 era, while amazing back then, just don’t hold up against today’s native 4K rendering. That’s the curse of those early generations!

@@Katanalein Unfortunately, you can't just fix Umah and her weird animations while she talks. Moving her hands in weird ways and making motions that have nothing to do with what she was talking about. I have no idea what the animators were thinking.

😂 That's bad luck... On PS2? Because my legal copy also always crashed at a specific part and putting the console vertically fixed it 😂 I can't remember why I tried this but it worked 😂

Was there any indication who or what this seer/witch is? She could be a Razielim out of her own time (not like it's impossible, given Mobius and the Guardian of Dimension tool Turel and put him in Avernus in Kain's past), but that does not explain the TK like the Turelim....🤔

whenever i watch one of the playthroughs of this game, i eagerly expect to see if the uploader manages to fully max out the HP bar. i mean levelling up so many times that about 60~ish percent into the final level the lore bar stops increasing. aside from me and an obssessive completionist friend, i've seen no one manage it. it's tedious as hell to achieve, but it can be done.

It’s definitely a nice achievement, but technically, it’s not truly maxed out-the lore bar can still be increased to the point where it overflows and breaks the game, reducing your blood to zero. That’s only possible using the checkpoint trick, though. Here’s what a maxed-out blood/lore bar looks like: i.postimg.cc/FH7nQDsC/IMG-4368.webp Personally, I didn’t aim for it because I feel it doesn’t align with Kain’s character in the Legacy of Kain universe. He doesn’t bother chasing mere humans for blood-he just eliminates anyone who stands in his way to achieve his goals.

@Katanalein I had to drink all possible enemies, find all the chests, and drink every civillian i could find to get to the point in your picture. And i noticed that kain's bare knuckle damage gets a slight increase as he levels up.

@@alexhulea2735 Even if you collect every chest and kill every enemy and civilian, it’s not possible to reach the point in the picture without using the checkpoint trick. 😉 Also, your claim about Kain’s bare-knuckle damage increasing with levels isn’t accurate. The debug mode stats from the game clearly show no influence on damage output based on leveling. I still have this game somewhere in a box in my basement. Great memories. However, if you have played the whole series, I think you will be with me of the opinion, that the Helghast are the good guys in the series!

Great to hear you still have the game-definitely a classic! 😊 I’ve made walkthroughs for every entry in the franchise, and I have to agree: the Helghast were pushed into a corner and left with little choice. It’s a shame the franchise is dormant, especially since the First Extrasolar War still holds so much untapped potential for storytelling.

Currently trying to beat this again, it’s only taken me like 8 other times to try since I was a teenager but hopefully I’ll beat it this time at 39. Love this game, and always loved the bat traveling cutscenes too.

This has been Godsent walkthrough, because you can't see those tiniest switches in modern TV's. I got this game on PS4, since they finally gave us these along with Soul Reaver -remasters. In old CRT -TV's these games where more brighter, but with the new screens it's almost unplayable. Blood Omen 1/2 on PS4 is dark as hell and you can't turn on more brightness other than adjusting brightness of your monitor/TV. And even that doesn't help much. Out of all Legacy of Kain -games; The first one needs the most of love. Without great foundation like Blood Omen, there would not be much of a story (or plot!) to build. Blood Omen has the most variety of abilities, spells, transformations that are actually usable in combat. Mixing and matching gear before Diablo was even a thing!

I'm glad the walkthrough helped-it’s true, spotting those tiny switches on modern screens can be tricky! You’re absolutely right about how important Blood Omen is to the series. Its variety in abilities and gameplay mechanics really set it apart, and it’s a shame it hasn’t received the same level of attention as some of the later entries. Hopefully, one day it’ll get the proper remaster treatment it deserves! 😊

This is one of the best if not the best introduction of a videogame ever. The pacing is good the music is good the atmosphere is good, immediately you know who you play as and with what purpose. It is difficult to get hooked in a game from the intro alone and this game did it so well. Even all these years later it's just as impacting as it was all those years ago

Man, that 2nd Phase of the Magnus Bossfight is pure pain. They really f'ed up the pathing on Magnus. Anyway, nice, smooth playthrough. When I first played this game (way too young for it, on the console of a friend from the US) this level really terrified me. No other stage in any LoK game ever reached that close to being a horror game in my opinion.

Thanks! 😊 That second phase of the Magnus fight is indeed a struggle-his pathing feels completely off. You can tell the game was rushed, and I still don’t get why they pushed it out so quickly. It ended up doing more harm to the series than good. Magnus didn’t cooperate much during the recording, even though he behaved perfectly during practice runs. I chose this take because I liked actively shoving him into the statue rather than relying on the intended mechanic of him stumbling in himself. I agree about the atmosphere-this level really leans into the horror vibe, something rarely seen in the series. It’s definitely memorable!
