Very similar story. Diagnosed with Crohn's in 2001. I did not respond well to any treatment. The meds and the disease thinned my hair out so much. I was embarrassed by the bald spots. I made the choice between that little old balding lady or being the cute one with a great wardrobe of wigs. I am more confident now and think I made the right choice. I am 75 and now exploring the world of gray wigs.

Do you get headaches from the hair wrap? Hot wearing wigs?

Tammie, this is a great service you are doing. First of all, I have been doing this for about 11 years and have purchased over 150 wigs. Some I gave away (learning curve), but I have over 100 right now. Many are synthetics, some are human hair (I buy mostly these now, having figured it all out). I had the same issue with my hair just getting finer and gradually thinner, and being tired of dyeing and blowing it dry, etc. My first wig was Scorpio by Revlon (still sold but another manufacturer). It was very simple and looked so good, I became obsessed and now have the best pieces in my collection. I have shoulder length hair so I don't have to wear wigs while I am at home, but when I am out, I have gorgeous looks to choose from. Never purchased from TWC, but Summer Heat reminds me of Elle (I have 5 Elles) so I think I will try one. Thank you for this wonderful video -- you are helping people.

Thank you for sharing the story of your wig journey. I’m 68 and started wearing wigs 1 year ago! My only regret also is that I waited waaay tooo long to start wearing wigs! All those long hours of curling my hair to get it to look good…..GEEZ!!!

For me, I started wearing them when I was in my teens because I loved the different styles and the luxury of having a complete look in an instant. I love my own hair, but I love wigs. Wigs are simply wonderful and a part of my wardrobe.

That puts a new twist on the wave/curl pattern on the sides, Christina! I like how you worked the sides of that wig with your fingers. Great idea! The first thing we do with new wigs is to give a big shake and you're right, sometimes by doing that it makes the curls seem a little frizzy. This is a better alternative for curly wigs. Thanks for the great advice!
