Definitely the slimpad. It had more of a punch, which gives it more of articulate sound, especially when outside with minimal echo.

When you do your 3s at 9 inches on your right hand, careful to not let your back fingers fall out. An easy fix is to focus more on fulcrum with your thumb and ring finger as opposed to your thumb and pointer finger. If you watch bd lots closely you’ll notice their pointer fingers sometimes hang out when they’re playing, especially if they have a lot of fast singles on that hand
