My cat, our Sylvester, our uncle, finally left to pass on. I need to wash his body. To put him closer to us. Not knowing where he is and that I can't help him, is driving me crazy. I'm on a crying craze and can't stop. My bones hurt. I need him.

I'm an Atheist. I do like Buddhism the most out of all the religions.

This is hilarious, as most ordinary, grassroots buddhists are unaware of this distinction and do worship the Buddha.

Try studying Christ instead, Buddha died and didnt get up again or turn into anything else or go onto nirvana. Christ came and righted our wrongs and reconciled us to God for a real relationship with our creator, not mindless peace or denying ourselves emotion and emptying ourselves, but filling ourselves with God and his Word.

To each their own. Respect all faiths. Christianity has overwhelmingly had the spotlight. Buddhism predates Christianity and is the fourth largest in the world. Hinduism is the first. Christianity has problems with dogma and narcissism in Karpman’s drama triangle.

@@Psa22-6 I do, even though I am a practicing Buddhist I don't restrict myself to the teachings of Buddhism, like most Buddhists. Wisdom is everywhere to be found if one is a student of life.

Thanks for not being afraid to stand up for LGBTQ+ people. I will warn you that standing up for this minority group online often gets people targetted by their ideological opposite. I know this probably sounds strange or stupid, but please humor me as I am being completely serious. Certain groups will hate you for this. You might start getting weird, unpleasant comments in the near future if you end up on their radar and that is best case scenario. I wish I could elaborate more, as it's very hard for me to express just how real what I am warning you of, is. I also want to explain to you why it would happen in the first place. But that is probably too much for a random comment. Instead I just want to say to you, do not be discouraged by any future adversaries that arise because you have the right values and have the courage to stand up for other people who have been victimized. While it might be good for you to be wary, I also think that being a monk may make you much more capable of dealing with such an attack, especially if you are forewarned. Good luck and thank you for your work.

Buddhism is fundamentally a way of life focused on personal growth and ethical living rather than a faith driven by fear of hell or heaven or worship of the Buddha. At its core, Buddhism teaches that enlightenment and liberation from suffering are achieved through understanding, mindfulness, and ethical conduct. It emphasizes the principle of karma, which means "you reap what you sow," underscoring the idea that one's actions directly influence future experiences. Rather than seeking divine intervention or fearing retribution, Buddhists strive to cultivate wisdom, compassion, and inner peace, with the ultimate goal of attaining Nirvana-a state of freedom from the cycle of birth and death. Thus, Buddhism encourages individuals to take responsibility for their own spiritual development and live a life of mindful action and ethical responsibility.
