Y'know its rather funny that: That until 'Thunderbirds are Go!' came out exactly ten years after this one, this was for a time the only CGI series remade from an Anderson Puppet Show!

A masterpiece from the '60s. It made my day when I was young, and I still enjoy at 68 the whole Anderson universe!

The OG vehicles and hats look much better than what we got in the series. To say nothing of the abandonment of the iconic theme and opening. Capt Blue was turned into a stereotypical American jock. The writing in the new series has has been hit and miss. Destiny should never have been a main star. The belated introduction of Capt Ochre should have been the female lead, from the start. Watching the new Captain Scarlet in a vacum, its not bad at all. Watching it after the OG 60s version. It does not hold up as well. I really do dislike how Capt Black is done in the new version. Too much autonomy and enjoying the mayhem and deaths. OG Black was a literal puppet. Little agency and controlled fully. A shell for the Mysterons. New Black is more of an evil Bond villan doing his thing.

That close up of Agon was always creepy but seeing it in HD is all the more terrifying. Especially with his eyes where you can now see the blood vessels/veins in them more clearly. If there was a Nightmare Fuel page for Lavender Castle on TV Tropes that would be the page's image!

I just finally realised "Agon" comes from the word "Agony". Yes I know his name also becomes "dragon" when you squash the "Dr" and "Agon" together.

1984, our family were not well off at all, but they knew how much I loved Thunderbirds and the works of Gerry Anderson. After reading a review in ‘The Young Observer’ Sunday supplement, I begged my parents to take me and my older brother. I was 11 and he, 13. I was struck how small The Place Theatre was and even driving to it from North West London was an adventure. It only added to the magic. There was a group of men and women who must have been the Captain Scarlet fan club, as they were all decked out in Spectrum uniforms and even had wooden guns sprayed silver. Before the curtains raised, they were playing Thunderbirds themed songs like ‘Flying High’ by Gary Miller and the Captain Scarlet intro music - all of which they sang along to. Gavin Robertson had the role of Captain Black and purposely walked up the stairs towards the group. He and Andrew Dawson began to improvise with them as they drew their guns on him! It was superb. I spent the whole show almost in tears with laughter, but the funniest reference was when Dawson mimed falling into the sea and immediately, they began to play ‘Marina’ from Stingray. Robertson half emerged from the props, swimming. Even my curmudgeonly father loved it and after leaving, my Ma said, “I know……how about a McDonalds!?” We had one about once a year. One of my happiest, happiest memories and I was damn lucky to see it before it became really huge.

AS funny and ridiculous as this ad is, I know Scott would never do that. We are talking about the same character who was crying in his hand when he heard he couldn't save a life. Besides, Scott could probably eat the Kit Kat on his way to the danger zone. Don't worry Scott, I'm here to defend your case!

I remember this programme. I used to watch it when I was about eight or nine. It was shown on UTV via ITV as a part of their children's block CITV in 1999. I did not even know it was from the same fella who created Thunderbirds, Stingray and Captain Scarlet. Anyway it reminds me of Jim Henson's Dark Crystal (1982).

This is from 2005, not 1995. It was released for the 40th anniversary of the series, which first aired in 1965.
