The natural gas fields in Siberia, Alaska and the Middle East should last 20 years longer than the world's oil reserves but, although cleaner than oil, natural gas is still a fossil fuel that emits pollutants. It is also expensive to extract and transport as it has to be liquefied....Oil running out by 9% a year now, so it is better growing food in gardens and being sustainable,As tractor harvest will become like the dinosaur soon....No oil no tractor harvest soon ,Biden plan to reduce farming by 50% by 2050 ( land mine Ukraine 30% and want cold countries food production to full by 30% ,dutch farms ).People don't want to grow food in car parks ,and ban lawnmowers ,to save their lives. Greed ,and want ,And no hope by people wanting more than one child .Lockdowns to electric cars to 15 minute cities ,Elderly stop driving by new laws ,for driving test later in life etc ,The world economic system will progressively support less and less of the world population. In other words, they have engineered a troubling dilemma with two stark choices: either radical change in how we govern resources or a massive depopu,,,,,It is a highly clas.sified subject due to the simple fact that o.verpopulation will deplete planetary resources by 2040 at current rates, and there is only one practical, workable solution left. A minimum 40% reduction before 2040. Everywhere, including the US. Most nations have already agreed, secretly, to commit to this, including the United States. To be perfectly clear, it was my job to come up with as many ways possible to k___ people, first discreetly to buy time with w/_/r and "slow p___s", then more directly with a fa.lse flag ,, d. camps. There will be no roundup for the camps, people will go willingly thinking it's their only salvation. Once 40% is reached, the age of electricity will be permanently cut off, nature will thin out the survivors by another 70-90%, and humanity will be managed from secret cities with advanced technology, religion, and secret microchipping through religious ceremony. The general population will never be allowed to advance beyond 1850's technology levels/// A car battery for the electric car weighs about 500 kg, the volume is the size of a suitcase. It contains 12 kg lithium, 30 kg nickel, 20 kg manganese, 15 kg cobalt, 100 kg copper, 200 kg aluminum (production is extremely electrically closed), steel and plastic. There are 6,831 lithium cells inside...oil running out by 9% a year now = lockdown , The UK is set to run out of its oil, coal, and gas supplies in a little over five years, a new report had claimed. The research from the Global Sustainability Institute has said that other European countries are facing similar shortages and that many nations will become entirely dependent on energy imports in the next few years. The UK has 5.2 years of oil remaining, 4.5 years of coal and three years of gas before completely running out of fossil fuels, says the institute, which is based at Anglia Ruskin University. France is reportedly even worse off, with = homeschooling times, and work at homes schemes,, electric cars and lawn mowers banned soon, to grow food in gardens and car parks grow food in ..Saudi Arabia's biggest oil field is fading faster than anyone guessed Ghawar is able to pump a maximum of 3.8 million barrels a day - well below the more than 5 million that had become conventional wisdom in the market.....Russia makes its oil reserves work harder as output declines 2019 Pakistan’s gas shortage may send shivers this winter Pakistan will have no gas in a few years, says Fawad Chaudhry NO OIL,NO TRACTOR HARVEST =NO FOOD IN CITES SOON ,,,,,,,,,,,,no gas ,no nitrogen fertilizer to double crop yields = 4,5 billion hungry and no more 80% food imports again UK..In the Asia-Pacific region alone, nearly 2,600 platforms, 35,000 wells, 7.5 million tonnes of steel and 55,000 kilometres of pipelines will need to be decommissioned over the next decade across a region ranging from India to Papua New Guinea and China to Australia. The potential cost for this could rise above £78billion. Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia are collectively thought to have around 1,500 structures and 7,000 oil fields that will be either 30 years old or require decommissioning by 2038. In the Gulf of Thailand, Chevron is faced with 300 platforms and 6,000 wells that must be decommissioned over the next decade. India has a further 300 structures and up to 1,000 oil fields facing the same scenario. Australia expects 40 offshore fields to cease operations over the next decade. Closer to home, according to industry analysts Wood Mackenzie, up to half of the North Sea’s 600 installations - first installed 40 years ago - were due to be decommissioned by 2021. The UK government estimates the cost of removal at £20billion over the next 25 years in the North Sea. Globally, more than 4,000 such installations are scheduled for removal and 7,000 fields will cease production by 2022

The key to using batteries is simply to build a house that doesn't need 6000 kWh in the winter. With great insulated walls, windows and air handling units the heating needed in December is surprisingly low (600 kWh heat). Combine that with a modern efficient ground source heat pump and underfloor heating (radiant heat) and you only need 100 kWh of electricity to heat the entire house for a month. 15 kWp of solar panels angled 80 degrees towards the south and you'll get about 220 kWh of electricity. Add 100 kWh of battery storage and you'll have way more than you need.

Hi! Extremely well insulated walls with for ex Wood fibre, windows and yes smart ventilation reusing 80 % of the outgoing heat/air can take you far on the road to energy self sufficiency (my energy house is designed with this in mind) but a 100 kWh battery storage is unfortunately extremely expensive at the moment. Hans-Olof Nilsson have 110 kWh battery storage if my memory serves me well but he also have huge hydrogen storage to generate heat and electricity on demand which is more reliable if there is insufficient solar/energy available in the batteries. My suggestion is to start with insulation, windows and ventilation like you alude to and make step by step improvements from there on. I also highly recommend considering a masonry oven/stove as an alternative heat source during fall/winter time, it is extremely reliable, almost no emissions and super efficient. You only need a burn in the morning and one in the evening even in a large house to keep it warm and you can cook and bake pizza/bread in it too! :) As soon as my masonry oven is ready I will make episodes about it! :) Cheers, Johan

@@EvolutionShowNr1 it is possible to buy cells and build a pack yourself. 100 kWh = 80 000 sek. Kind of cheap. You don't need more. 15 kWp solar will give you about 230 kWh in December. 330 kWh all together is more then enough for heating, hot water and household electricity

There are so many uncertainties that it is impossible to forecast the oil availability. For example there are some poorly exploited oil field as the huge one in Venezuela, you have also Mexico which see its oil exploitation decrease not because there is less oil but simply because the Mexican oil company is lazy and unexperienced. You have the oil field in Guyana that will soon be exploited which will bring a lot of oil on the market. And Russia, if they can stop their silly war they can easily add a huge quantity of oil and gas on the market. There are many other examples like that around the world. So what worries me, for the next decades, is not the lack of oil reserve is more the variability and the uncertainty of the oil production which will necessarily have a huge impact of the oil price. However oil production is doomed to reduce because the oil reserves on earth are limited but it is impossible to predict when it will happen. Besides it may happen in the same time of the start of the world population decline around 2070-80, which would make the oil decline not a problem anymore, who knows. However if the oil availability is not reducing rapidly humanity will more rapidly face many more environmental problems which could be catastrophic for the humanity. No matter what happens, humanity is facing a real and enormous survivability situation if we do not voluntary reduce our consumption under the recycling and regenerative capacity of Earth. And I am not optimistic about the capacity of humanity to limit itself.

He was all over the place, but he point is simply this; humans need to reduce consumption of natural resources that are finite and destructive. All other conversations don’t address this fundamental problem. I agree. however, humans are stupid and will never accept an answer that includes consuming less. Therefore the best we can do until consequences punish humans is find a fast transition into use of other natural resources. We are doomed regardless, but we will give it the old college try.

Well this is to an extend right, but missing the boat on the other side.. People and it seems you re in this group seem to account for energyressources only by thinking about money. But the real issue is not money, but declining Energy return on investment. 100 years ago you had to invest the equivalent of one barrel to earn about 100 barrel.. now.. we are down to about what `20 to one? problem is, we need an energy surplus of about minimum 500% to be able to go on with a technical civilisation. (EROEI usualy gets calculated in the boundaries of the energy sector). the problem is, that EROEI is declining while efficience goes up.. still.. and will be also in the future.. This is nearly self explanatory, because we allways get the good stuff first. fürtheremore.. if you listen carfuly to experts like Arthure Behrman, you can learn, that allready the Energy Agencys account vast amounts of liquid Hydrocarbons as Fuel, that realy are not.. refinery gains, Propane i think too.. and furtheremore, these unconventional stuff even while acounted as fuels, embeds about 20% less usable energy as the good old cruide oil. So.. the stuff is getting worse in Quality. And thats nothing that you can fix with money.. You also have to account to econimic tippingpoints. Energy is integrated in all productions in all products and when prices go up youll find whole industries imploding due to economical tippingpoints with cascading effects. Economists realy dont understand economy.. because the never developed models integrating the biggest production element.. which is energy.. so changes here are far far more important as most models (exept of those from ecological economies) predict.

You can tell this guy has been hood-winking Politicians and VC's. He's adept at speaking that language. But there's a reason his planes will never stand on their own... Weight. Oh... and wait until you realize the charging capacity required for this setup it's sounds cool to do it in 30mins. But when you realize how much power has to be available for that fast of a charge... it's like operating a factory for a couple of planes... and that capacity sits idle whenever a plane doesn't need a charge. The CapEx to get that setup at an airport will require Governments taking money from all taxpayers to keep a few taxpayers happy.

The known reserves of fossil fuels continue to increase eventhough the demand has expanded dramatically. In 1980 there were 30 years of oil left (so it ran out in 2010!). In 2020 there were 57 years of oil left. The Earth is awash with hydrocarbons, as the fracking revolution has demonstrated in the US. To put it another way, the Stone Age didn't end because we ran out of stones, and the Oil Age won't end because we ran out of oil.
@EvolutionShowNr1
@EvolutionShowNr1 5 ай бұрын
Well we did not run out of stones, the Stone Age in fact never ended. We use more stones than ever before in fact, just in many more sophisticated ways and yes with exponential growth of the global population, came an exponential growth in the use of stones. But to your point. Firstly, far from all total world oil reserves are ever going to be extracted, due to geological and economic constraints. Secondly, the US Shale boom is a much more costly, read lower energy return on energy invested than conventional oil extraction in say Saudi Arabia or Russia. If the world were to run on shale oil extraction we would live in a total different, extremely poor economy. As Art Berman has pointed out many times, the shale oil boom is built on extracting the low hanging fruit first, with loans/the financial system based on a future of continued energy growth linked to the fossil energy sector. Yet that will not happen at today´s level due to geological and followingly, economic constrains. Thus we will stop drilling for oil long before "we run out" of oil, it simply wont make economic sense. Also remember, the shale oil numbers are very flawed as they include NGL:s and other substances derived from Natural Gas that are not crude oil. US Shale oil often lack the same properties as conventional oil so it must be mixed to be used in wider applications. That said, US Shale oil production has bought the world some time to find alternatives and adapt to a world with declining fossil energy availability, if it is 5 years or 10 years or more is hard to say but 50 years, not a chance. But I worry more about the exponential AI development than our energy predicament at the moment, yes they are linked but I would not count on a Super AI to solve our energy needs, at least not with Humanity still being around to enjoy it... Cheers! / Johan

@@OldScientist Coal reserves may indeed last longer but they will not replace oil at today´s economy of scale and every process that involves transforming a solid based energy form to liquid form has alot of transformtion losses/lower energy return on energy invested. Coal is indeed powerful to genereate electricity and heat and kick started the industrial revolution with the steam engine, whether we like it not. But the future involves thinking different how we use energy and how we combine different energy sources, inbedded energy in materials already produced etc. The problem is that most people think linearly,, as if a business as usual scenario is necessary or even possible. To quote Einstein "The measure of Intelligence is the ability to change", or adapt to a new energy reality in this case. Will it be hard? Yes. Will everybody survive or flourish in the transition, very unlikely no. But it does not mean we should not prepare and make the best of it.
