Is it healthy for him to eat all the items?
@weshareabawithyouАй бұрын
At some point, we will be thinning out the schedule of reinforcement and slowly introducing other items. Also, we want to ensure we are always probing and assessing for other potential reinforcers (including healthy ones). In the upcoming videos, we will be showing how to thin out the schedule of reinforcement.

The Mom did a good job! She explained that little guy had shared with big bro earlier (although, when you are a kid, that was then and it doesn't matter NOW) and HE had broken his so he has to share. It's a good way to do it, talk to them about the WHY but, in the end, MAKE them if they don't do it on their own.
@weshareabawithyou3 ай бұрын
Yes, very good points. The follow through part of it is necessary and at times hard. But I do agree, there were some solid responses from mom on this video. Thanks for leaving a comment.

Why did you take it from him? I thought that you have to record it until they are done.
@weshareabawithyou3 ай бұрын
Yes, there are some sections within the data sheet that asks whether the child takes the item or not, which is what was noted. Also, whether there was some level of interaction. You can also add if the client had a problem behavior during the process. We will be adding a data collection portion to these videos soon.

So is probing separate from baseline? Like probing is happening before baselines occurs?
@weshareabawithyou5 ай бұрын
Baseline (BL) probes allow you to collect data on specific behavior(s) prior to implementing interventions/teaching methods. The BL probes give a good starting point prior to initiating skill building or working on behavior reduction. Clinically you can assess how much your student has in their current repertoire prior to beginning specific programs. Hope this helps!
@Brttny_5 ай бұрын
@@weshareabawithyou that helped clear up what BL probes are...so BL probe to understand whats in students repertoire...then once you create an intervention/teaching method, would you collect baseline again before intervention? For example, (depending on what measuring) would you probe, and follow with an ABAB design where u collect baseline, intervention, back to baseline or are the probes a part of that first initial baseline?
@weshareabawithyou5 ай бұрын
@@Brttny_ Yes, BL probes allow us to get a nice starting point before starting skill building. The initial BL probes would be enough in most cases, once you have stable baseline you can initiate your treatment. You can run maintenance/generalization probes as well, to evaluate whether students are generalizing and maintaining skills. For behavior reduction, you could run a ABAB design, to evaluate the effectiveness of these procedures, along with other single-subject designs. Hope this helps!

Is task analysis when the client knows most of the steps and then their helped with the steps that they don't know?
@weshareabawithyou10 ай бұрын
Thank you for this great question! A task analysis is breaking down a complex skill into smaller units/steps to help the learner acquire the skill. The video you observed is total-task chaining, which is a type of chaining procedure where you do prompt individuals throughout the entire sequence/steps, but you must also have a prompt fading procedure integrated so you do not reinforce prompt dependency! Thanks again!

Thank you for this example!!! Are the breaks play breaks or are they just breaks where the client sits with nothing in front of them and aren't required to work?
@weshareabawithyou Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question! Yes, when I provide breaks in the field with NCR I try not to give the most reinforcing items, as this could then be hard to transition away from. Sometimes just relaxing could be okay, but sometimes you could give access to a moderately preferred item during the break (break structure would be very client-specific). With NCR for escape, we are trying to reduce the likelihood to engage in problem behavior for the specific task we are targeting. We are trying to give access to the break enough so that escaping or engaging in the problem behavior for escape is no longer reinforcing. Hops this help!
