I kind of understand now why Pete is more a "spontaneous gigs"-kind of person, like he explained in a interview. It really seems like he's struggling doing this. I think he's better just being spontaneous with his songs. Like if you've notice how he sometimes changes the lyrics when he sings live.

There's nothing average about The Libertines. Pete and Carl are amazing songwriters. You only need to listen to Up The Bracket to see it. 12 songs, not one of them short of great. Listen to Boys in the Band, the way the guitar riff intertwines with the bass, the way the song progresses, and how the chorus is a completely different thing from the verse. Its like it could be a completely different song, yet it fits so fucking perfectly. That ain't average, and thats just one example.

@tomaszek888 You say they are overated but you like their songs. The Libertines are famous for sound messy and sounding amateur! They aren't rated AT ALL as musicians but lyricists they are true greats. In my opinion Doherty is a great singer...if you don't like this FUCK OFF....

These two crack eachother up. Makes me think of my best friend who whenever were are somewhere that it would NOT be a good time to bust out laughing, we have a rule that we CAN NOT make eye contact with eachother - or it will all be overwith! Carl and Peter seem like they could probably just make eye contact and bust a gut laughing at some inner joke. Hopefully they'll get back to that.

What a beautiful tribute and a special message. Listen to your Grandparents and let them tell you things they have been thru and remember... If it wasn't for their 'stories' - there would be no YOU. PS. If Peter ever decided to sing in my cemetary, I would have to pull a Dawn of the Dead and come crawling out of the dirt to applaud and thank him! It would be my luck, my only chance to see him LIVE and I'm 6 foot under! Smiles!
