Sadly, Texas scored with 5 minutes left to win the game 13 - 8. Those 2 QB's ahead of Fran, Britt and Lewis, both took a back seat to him his next year and Georgia went 10 - 1 under Sir Francis.

I disagree when he said MOST of us are in the middle. It that was true there wouldn't be the abuse and hurt in life from people to people. I feel there's definitely more Takers in life.

Mathematically, none of takers/givers can be majority. And that's because for every taker out there, there has to be at least one giver from whom (s)he takes and vice a versa. So, yeah, he's right...there have to be more matchers who have the qualities of both.

He had a TED talk on this a few years back, with numbers (well not real numbers, but a chart) that you can find on kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6q7g4ydn7aLjpI Like Rakshit Sharma said, it's only natural for most people today to be a matcher. I'm actually kind of surprised the number wasn't closer to 75 or 80 percent.

Often times, takers present as marchers. They’ll give just to make others feel indebted to them. They’re transactional & always expect more than they gave. They’ll do you one minor I non-requested favor just to throw it in your face anytime you tell them no.

This sounds like how students behaved at my "elitist " school. They kissed teachers butt but they were ruthless and mean towards kind hearted students.

In this world, some are givers, some are takers & most of us fall into the mid way bracket of both giving & taking, keeping a close eye on what goes out & making excuses for taking. Givers want to donate regularly to good work, spend time as volunteers, offer help before someone asked. They feel happy b'cos of the emotional satisfaction they get & don't fall into depression. Takers are the ones who feel low for no reason at all. Who feel uneasy and keep looking over their shoulders. Life is not about being served all the time. We need to learn that it,s in giving that u actually receive. But, don't forget being willing to receive sometimes takes more grace than giving to others. & our reluctance to get help from others really exposes our pride! Doesn't it?

The problem is he is basically saying Givers is like the lottery, you are either a winner or loser. Where the matcher is the safest choice .

He actually says that the givers want to learn to be strategic about their time, why they give, when they give and who to give to!

We need more story tellers in the world. We need people who have done meaningful things to share their stories with people who may not realize or think it's possible for them do something special. Fran Tarkenton is doing exactly what he should be doing by getting in front of young people to share his story. Keep up the good work Fran!
