Advanced users / experts dont use cheap electronics .
@Smaug18 күн бұрын
Advanced users don't necessarily NEED expensive electronics, as they know how things work. (electronics engineer here) Granted the nicer chargers have a nicer user experience with less oversight, but accomplish the same thing in the end.

I've got two Om2n's and an Om1n. To say that they're as fully featured as the Nikon F2 (@ 2.36 mins) is ludicrous. I have two Nikon F2's as well (including the last F2AS) which were the peerless 'go-to' professional camera of the 1970's. Admittedly I use my Om's more because they're smaller and lighter, but the Nikon F2 series were the best fully mechanical, hand built cameras ever made.
@TXLorenzo24 күн бұрын
I have exactly the same cameras. The F2s are bullet proof monsters, but those OMs are so sweet to carry around and are very well made.
@Smaug117 күн бұрын
I've never had an F2, so please educate me on how it is more fully featured than an OM2N? More rugged? I can see that. More fully-featured, I dunno about that. The OM1N is more comparable, feature-wise, to a Nikon FM. All the Nikons starting with FM certainly had more rugged flash hot shoes. The metal shutters were probably more durable too.

The light meter on mine is giving up the ghost and there's a bit of foam in the viewfinder now, but I'm keeping anyway! I have an OM adapter and I use the Zuiko lenses on my modern Nikon Z5; they STILL look good, although not as contrasty as modern Nikkors.

Wad cutters are designed for lower power airguns to shoot paper targets on 15 meters max. All over 15 meters domed BC is the way to go for. The reason the HW30 likes the wadcutters is only because of it,s lower power. Cheers!

Truly an amazing watch! I saw one very similar of a brand called boderry, do you know it? Do you think it's worth it buying the boderry instead of the bertucci?
@Smaug1Ай бұрын
Boderry is a Chinese copycat brand. If you're OK with that, go for it. To me, it's not like buying a Rolex homage, because Rolex has priced themselves out of most folks' reach. This watch, at under $300 is attainable by a lot of people and is the original. Also, don't forget to compare the key specs: This one has a 10 year battery life, recessed sapphire crystal and Ti case with integral strap bars. This could be part of a 3 watch collection. (with the others being a dress watch and a digital workout watch)

bottle cage should be on side of seat post pole or battery post - too short of distance between seat post and handle bars for comfort; weight of bike? is the battery easy to remove, insert? How much distance does the extra battery add? How about recommendations for 80-105 mile range?
@Smaug12 ай бұрын
-The bottle cage bosses are on the downtube. (what you refer to as battery post) -Stock weight of the bike was 65 lbs. -Battery is easy to remove and insert, but it does require turning the handlebar out of the way and holding it, since it comes out the front/bottom instead of back/top. -An extra battery of the same type would double the range, but there's no good way to mount it; you'd be carrying it in some kind of bag. That would get your 80-105 mile range. Alternately, if you used the battery very sparingly and only for hill climbing and into stiff headwinds, you could stretch it to 80 on the one battery. The bike rolls smoothly enough to comfortably maintain 12-13 mph without any power on flat ground.

Ya... at age 46 having owned a good 8-10 different film cameras (maybe more)... I've finally settled on 3: The Olympus OM-1. The Nikon FE2. & And the Contax G1. Those three cameras cover all the bases. The Nikon being fastest shutter speed, exposure lock, beautiful meter in the viewfinder, aperture priority. The Olympus is the smallest and I can shoot without a battery (I currently don't even have a battery in it) with a fantastic lens selection, the best grab and go camera. And the Contax gets me auto-focus with the sharpest and most contrasty lenses of the bunch. 3 cameras that cover all my bases. And I don't see myself getting another 35mm camera anytime in the near future. Those are the 3.
@urwholefamilydied3 ай бұрын
@Jack_Warner well no... fast shutter speeds are just there when you have lots of light, fast film, or fast lenses. There's no "trouble" with that. I would rather 4000th shutter be there than not. And as far as Olympus vs Nikon... Zuiko made exceptional lenses. But there's plenty of videos on Nikkor, Zuiko, Zeiss, Takumar, Minolta, Ricoh, Voigtlander, shootouts, and Zuiko isn't the clear winner. Nikkor has made some razor sharp lenses and some just ok lenses. (you're preaching to the choir, Olympus is one of 3 35mm cameras I whittled my collection down to)
@Smaug12 ай бұрын
I guess it depends on which Nikkors. Pre-AI lens formulas & coatings cannot compare. AI and later Nikkors are usually excellent. The Zuikos though are all excellent, the only factor being the early ones weren't multi-coated and really needed the hoods for best contrast.

Contax G cameras are notorious for electronic problems making them useless. No one seems to work on them any more.
@urwholefamilydied2 ай бұрын
@@Smaug1 I wouldn't say "notorious".. they can't be repaired these days, that doesn't mean they're more prone to breaking than stuff that can be repaired. You just see more on the repair list... cause they can't be repaired. I have two G1 cameras they work perfect. I mean, it's like any vintage electronic shit. There's casio watches from the 80's still ticking. And electronic stuff from the 70's still working. Don't get it wet. Don't drop it. It's circuitry. Should be fine if you take care of it.

Aventon says it is a combination torque/cadence sensor. If one applies torque but the chainring isn't turning, it won't apply power. (as we would have from a dead stop)

Good affordable rifle scopes has made airguns so much better, andI remember the 80s when they all sucked! The HW30s becomes a light handy tack driver even when you have a large scope on it. I'd stay away from the Bugbusters on this, and just get a larger one (like you did). The rifle is, for most adults, probably a little bit to light for good shooting without a large scope on it.
@Smaug12 ай бұрын
Yes. Being a lower powered air rifle, it means the targets are usually small, so they can make use of a more powerful scope. On the other hand, it doesn't necessarily need a large objective lens...

Another question. I'm getting a level 2 and I'm considering getting a bike rack for my car. Did you get our already have one? If yes, what brand/ type. Thanks again
@Smaug16 ай бұрын
I do have one, but it is just one of those that hang on with straps and hooks. This bike can be carried that way, but it's not ideal, since the bike is quite tail-heavy. It doesn't want to balance and the rack is always trying to twist. I considered adding a trailer hitch (you'll need a 2" square) and a quality rack that would support the bike under the tires, but 1) that was a lot of money and 2) the hitch would drag on my steep driveway. In the end, this bike doesn't get brought along with me if I can't ride it where I'm going. I have a couple of folders for that, which I can just fold up and put in my SUV. (Lectric XP Lite and Ride1Up Portola)

Did you change out the handle bar grips? Did the handle bar end mount mirror fit on the original equipment grips. Looking at your video. I can't tell if they orignal equipment. Thanks
@Smaug16 ай бұрын
Yes, the original round grips had almost no cushion, but were very grippy. That, combined with the pretty aggressive forward lean put my hands to sleep. In one of the videos, I put a link to the grips in the video description. The bar-end mirror (MirrCycle) fits the handlebar. Depending on the grip you have, it'll have a removable plug or you just cut the end off and the mirror's hardware clamps on the INSIDE of the bar itself; nothing to do with the grip except that the bar end has to be open. The included instructions are very clear and they even include a little allen wrench. I think I talked about the mirrors a bit more in some of the other videos.
