Did you really see Jacob on that spot were he pulled up at earlier in the week or tournament? Great top 15 finish.
@MattBeckerFishingСағат бұрын
Thank you! As he mentioned, on Day 1 I pulled in and fished this “spot” about an hour or so before the tide got right and only caught non scoreables, but when I came back on the ideal tide he was sitting there. Lots of water gets shared in all these events

Matt, I also want to say you handled that situation with Wheeler like a complete classy dude. I am a fan of Wheeler, but I think he was in the wrong in that one. I’m sure there is a ton that goes into that situation that the public is not aware of, but man you are a class act! My son was a Bassmaster All American last year and is fishing in college. We talk constantly about how tournament fishing just seems to be drama all the time. Loved that I can show him that clip and he can see how you handled that situation. Total class move. Now, I would hope you and Wheeler have had a “PROFESSIONAL” conversation off the water. I’m sure you let him know you were angry and won’t be intimidated at any time, but man what a great example you set for these young guys coming up and aspiring to be professionals. Seriously, very classy way to handle that situation! I’m a real fan.

In my opinion, you won the James River tournament. You showed the bass fishing community and, most importantly, the youth, how to be a great sportsman and example how to keep the sports integrity instead of acting childish. You showed good character.

How do you change that many batteries? Do they make a 5 bank charger? I have 2 starting batteries for the same reason if my main one doesn’t get charged all the way for some reason. I’m 65 with heart issues and can’t get stranded because of a battery problem starting the motor. BTW good job for taking the high road with JW. I really wouldn’t have a problem if you would have continued and fished that area. If he wanted to protect it he should’ve been there first.

Before I retired as a carpenter, I carried spares of most of my tools with me. When I ran a wedding DJ business, I had backups for all of my sound equipment. When you are making a living at something, and people depend on you to do your job it only makes sense to hope for the best and plan for the worst. Add one more thing to the list, check to make sure the batteries are charged before going to bed. That list is getting pretty long about now.

As a professional angler, I don't see anything wrong with it, and I think it's a very smart idea. For us recreational guys, it could be overkill. But the way I see it to each their own, it's your boat, and if you want to have four backup batteries, you sure can. And to anyone that says it's ridiculous too bad for them
@MattBeckerFishing2 күн бұрын
That’s how I look at it as well!
@chrism20423 күн бұрын
People that think it's overkill, may very well find themselves in a bad situation one day. The dealership will be rigging my new bay boat in a couple weeks, been thinking strongly about using the Power Pole charge just because it may be "overkill" for my engine to be charging the batteries that need the charge. I plan on putting a second high volume bilge pump in this new boat like one of my previous boats, just for overkill. Know how many boats out there have a bad connection or corroded fuse on the bilge pump, the pump will not work when needed? That's why I test my bilge pump on a regular basis. If you have the space and the funds, redundancy is never a bad thing!

@MattBeckerFishing at least he's not acting like he's oblivious to what he done. I'm not saying either of you we're wrong, but if that's the game you're going to play, then do it. Actually, both of you were being what some people would say petty, but I see it as competitive. So, just own up to not taking $h!^ and say you don't back down. There's nothing wrong with that. You're not teammates.
