Thanks for the video. I acquired same paint from the supplier Golf Paint Inc in Kansas. Tom was a great help.

Dude !! 7 Years later this is still the definitive DIY club paint repair video. Golf Paints Inc shipped me an exact match to my 2023 Callaway Paradym 5 wood that had several scratches after the last season, and it literally looks brand new when applying this method. I can say this: Do not rush the repair...do it over a couple of days and it will come out looking perfect. Thanks man!!

I was looking for this rev. been using the golfpad app on the phone. So this has been draining my battery, data and using freaking pocket. So ive been thinking of smartwatches that would give me all the feats that golfpad give like shot track, score, virtual caddie/ or diatances of sort so that i wont have to drain my battery and data. I want an all around standalone that doesnt need to be connected to my phone and its net data. So is the vid suggesting that golfpad app sucks when it's used on the smartwatch? And does not give me what i want when it's used on the smartwatch? If so, should i just stick with golfpadd on smartphone and just let my data and battery drain (w/ consideration of a a pwerbank ofcourse)

Excellent work here learned a lot - just finished tiny microscopic touch up on mark on Taylormade M2 3 Wood on area where it shows the loft Model (M2/15*- and also tiny sky mark on Taylormade Burner 5 Wood. Used modeler's paint and masking tape cleaned with similar polish etc ! Great take away - about specific Golf club paints available !! - didn't know that ! Thanks!

Not a driver, but recently refinished an odyssey dual stroke putter from the 90s. Was a fun project as it was pretty rusty. Was my dads old club, he was happy to see it restored to its former glory 😂

It held up pretty good, but I moved on to a watch. There's a plethora of devices out now with the magnets embedded which are great options.

hi this is at the start of your video but, I did this in my past and used Sharpe markers to fill in the scrapes . one tip from my experience is when you put your clubs in your bag put some cellotape around where shaft touches its resting point , this stops it wearing part of shaft thin . I did here a chap did not do this and one day he swung his driver it hit the ball but club snapped at that point. paul

The biggest mistake you can make is not allowing the paint to dry . Yes the hair dryer will help but the key is time. At least a couple days before applying tape to paint a second color or more. Don’t waste all that hard work and end up with thumb prints in your paint….✌🏼✌🏼

Don't bother taping the face or sanding the face between coats, use T-cut or similar once you have painted the chipped area and that will create a smooth finish on its own because its a cutting compound, it also easily removes the paint from the face. So no tape and no sanding = alot of time saved
@TheAverageBear2 жыл бұрын
You don't want to scuff the black or treated finish of the face. Plus on this head the paint came down onto the face so I needed to make sure the line was sharp.

Swing speed = compression = feel. That cover help with spin but construction of the ball play it part 2 piece vs 3 piece in all three Swing speed compression/ spin/ feel and control.

I live and die saving par with a 56 and, where necessary, 60. I don’t care if it feels hard, as long as it spins and checks on part shots. The Srixon, Bridgestone and TM premium balls are all good. If I had to pick one, it’d be the Bridgestone Braxton.

Hey man. Came across this video and looks like it worked well for you. I have been doing several thin layers, hitting with the heat, then sanding. It feels like every time I sand more paint comes off than should. I just used the clarifying compound and it took almost all the paint off. Back to square 1. Any tips? What am I doing wrong?
@TheAverageBear3 жыл бұрын
The sanding should just be buffing. Light with a high grain wet dry paper. If i remember correctly i started with 1000 grit for the first layer then ended with 4000 grit. You really have to build up a good foundation of paint. Patience and a gentle touch is the key.

I want a ball I can feel off the putter...save so many strokes when feeling it on the greens.. I found a taylormade on course other day and couldn't believe how much better I was putting with it compared to my usual pro v 1x...Im a mid handicapper and I have no feel with the pro v1 x. I misplaced the taylormade and can't remember what model it is:(( ill be going to local golf store to buy a couple of each and play them around course to get a feel .thanks

Yes, the ball matters. It is around the green I need a decent ball. I don't want a tour ball like the ProV or similar, but I do want a mid ball like the Titelist NXT or E6 as you tested here. Definitely don't want a hard distance ball since I cant control it around the green. I ideally want the hard ball off the tee since I don't deliberately play a draw or fade, but from 100 yards in, the spin is important. Ideally therefore the mid range balls that have some spin and control is the best balance
@TheAverageBear3 жыл бұрын
Or try out the Vice and Snell line of balls. Their top end balls are great value for performance where you can get both off the tee and greenside pluses at reasonable costs. Thanks for stopping by!
@ponnappaganapathy99413 жыл бұрын
@@TheAverageBear Easier said than done. Vice and Snell golf balls are a lot harder to buy outside the US. In India they are either difficult to find or expensive. I am using Inesis (Decathlon sports) balls for that reason

I’m a 11 handicap and I’m convinced the ball doesn’t matter. I’m going to be average regardless. Just my opinion.

I'm a 10 and the Bridgestone Tour BX mitigates my excessive side spin and driver spin, which allows me to more predictably play my over fade (-cough- slice -cough). The numbers off the monitor support my on course visuals. The only near side spin balls are the ProV1, and the Tour BX saves me revs off the driver both back and side spin -- keeping my flight down and dispersion more playable. If you've never had a ball fitting, try to find a pro who is good at them. You might be pleasantly surprised.

When I started playing golf again after a super long break, I decided to try the e6. It was decent for a while, but they aren’t as spinny as a premium ball. Now my budget ball is Srixon Q star tour, and if they are on sale I go for the z star/z star xv. I’m going to try out the Bridgestone e12 soft on my next round. Got them on sale with an extra sleeve for $25.

@@TheAverageBear I play Bridgestone, exclusively., and have for a longtime garage stats are fine... but the course is where its visual and real. bridgestone ball have the inherent characteristic of in flight straight trajectory ,with very little side to side inflight deviation. better than any ball.and im 63 and have hit most manufactures over 45 years. Surlyn cover of the e6 and e 12 allow better pop off the club face than the b rx urethane , which I use because it suits me perfectly. eventually you get better and stay away from them and move to more traditional 3 piece urethanes by which you can feel the shot more . nothing wrong with the 6 and 12,.... but they are there for a reason to help beginners with contact. then you realize you need more check on approach shots and increased stability when putting., thats when you put the toys away and reach for the tour line. I think ppl don't really understand the value of bridgestone tour balls. I recently picked up 2 boxes of the b rx for 70$ Canadian which is a great deal, not some water logged recycled crap at used balls .com not dissing on pro v's or tp's but im getting amazing results with bridgestone tour
