I played on a stage custom during my gigging days for 5 or so years and I still miss it. I got asked all the time how I got my toms to sound so good, and it was just the kit. Thing had such a warm, deep tone and I loved it

Beautiful kit and the sound is amazing. The oversize, heavy duty hardware kind of defeats the purpose of the micro kit having any portability. If you want to pack light and compact, get some lightweight, straight cymbal stands that are single-braced. I speak from experience. The older you get, the heavier this stuff becomes. Learning how to pack this stuff for quick setup and tear-down becomes an art.

Guys im a Sonor player. Where does a Pearl Refrence series kit stand in the order of quality? Im not familiar with Pearl, but i see they have a bunch of series in their arsenal. I think Masterworks is their pinnacle???

masterworks, reference, and Masters series kits are all Flagship lines. The Reference and masters series kits use the same materials in the masterworks line its just less custom options.

I know so many drummer’s that play this brand, especially hard-core metal drummers. I just don’t know what it is, but the sound of these drums just doesn’t do it for me at all. I don’t know if it’s the birch or not but they just don’t seem to project. I hear no bottom end no punch no warmth. That’s what my head hears

It’s the die cast hoops all around the toms that shorten the sustain, giving them a very focused attack, but also Evans heads tend to sound dead to many people’s ears, so that could be the cause. If you play arenas like most Tama artists, the sound is fantastic.

This KIT sounds very good....but ,i don't know i don't like " MAPEX " BRAND "....but this kit, I repeat, sounds magnificent.....The two FLOOR TOM(16"&18") are incredible.....you are a good drummer.... Un saluto dall Italia ✌

I love all the bright overtones in the sound, I’m assuming that’s from sharp clean bearing edges. The thing is, you can always take the high end away, you can’t add it to a dead sounding kit. Play a luan/ poplar pearl export from 30 years ago and things have come on a long way

I own a set of these, played them five minutes and haven't touched them since. Too boomy, if you can play with any speed and definition drums these sizes will turn your notes to mud. The overhead camera angle shows how far to the left the rack tom is, difficult to play comfortably and you cannot bring it closer.
