Why not split the pine?
@MyOutdoorAdventures39612 күн бұрын
I sell most of my wood, and people don’t like to buy pine because it is considered “junk wood”. But any wood will burn.

Tough wood but you did the job
@rooster301916 күн бұрын
Gtreat neighbor! Make sure that YOU do the maintenance on it for him. They do not need much. When done for the season warm it up and change the oil, we use 15-40 Rotella. Then drain the regular fuel and add just a cup or so of 2cycle fuel mix and run dry. This keeps the tank and carb from storage damage. Sycamore is tough and avoid elm unless you have a higher tonage rating. When you hear the pump loading up due to a crotch or knot, make sure your body is clear from the sides of the splitting area, the wood can pop and eject at hight speed,

One could save some money replacing the handle vs buying a new maul. Nonetheless your hard work and determination are admirable.
@jeremyfortune7274Ай бұрын
Get you a good splitting axe, not maul, WOODEN HANDLE .. look up Wood Bullet. I know it’s high but reach out to them, they may send ya one for free. If not, search an axe of that shape. But WOODEN HANDLE. you’ll thank me later.
@superscuba73Ай бұрын
This is the way, a handle is much cheaper than a new maul or axe.

You’ll get a lot more power if you choke your right hand higher up on the axe shaft, close to the top, then slide it to the bottom as you swing. Life long Alaskan who’s been chopping wood to keep our cabin warm all winter lol

Thanks for the advice. I knew I must have been doing something wrong because I’ve been having back pain.

@@MyOutdoorAdventures396 oh yea my friend! The hand slide swing will save your back! Man I’d love to come help you. I’m a carpenter, outdoorsman, grew up on remote gold mines in bush Alaska. Grew up subsistence hunting. Born in the 80’s. I like your attitude

Plenty of resources, I could careless of potential monetize value/ whoring products- services in making KZbin videos.
