I remembered when I first saw the new board and wondering, "Why the hell do they still have Vanna walking and touching the letters. Just show the letters. She doesn't need to be there touching it." It didn't take me long to realize that Wheel of Fortune would not be Wheel of Fortune without Vanna there revealing the letters. Even with the upgrades to the board, she needs to be there as part of the show.

I don't know how close they are off-set but they had really great chemistry during the whole run. I grew up watching them on Wheel (the CRT era and newer) and every playful ribbing Pat gave Vanna just seemed like that, like friends pickingbat each other. I'm going to miss him now that he's retired. Show just doesn't feel right anymore.

Pat Gajak was kind of a jerk to Vanna.

I remember when they first replaced the board with TV's. I always thought it was surprising that they still kept her on the show; she no longer needs to even do anything, they could drop her role at any time.

She's a character and I don't mean that in a bad way at all. Even with the board going completely digital she has to deliver her presence and that's exactly what she does.

Weiß jemand zufällig noch jemand Details über die Aufzeichnung der Gala: meines Wissens war nur der Telefon Zuschauer Kandidat LIVE (merkt man auch am Schnitt bzw. Gundis Frisur) da sie allerdings relativ aktuell vom Fussball Ergebnis sprechen, denke ich die Show wurde vielleicht Samstag Nachmittag aufgezeichnet (alleine schon wegen der Preiseauswahl = die übrigens in den USA und auch in den Niederlanden immer LIVE on Tape stattgefunden hat) und Abends dann als Aufzeichnung und eben der LIVE Zuschauerspiel Part dann gesendet !?
