Lovely seeing the onboard view, I felt the tension waiting for it to be your turn. I also love the colours on the car! Looks every bit the racing car, the kind of Hot Wheels model I'd choose as a kid :D

I assume it was during the first session of qualifying judging by the very small crowd!

Yes, it was on Thursday, the 1st day of qualifying. However there was a huge turnout with regard to race cars in both quantity and quality.

I don’t know. I love my 55 Studebaker champion. I see them totally dominate La Carrara Panamericana. That’s cool but I would like to see some of the pretty ones dominate the track sometime. I see some out on the salt flats. But hardly any of them give any #s or spec’s on what they’re running. It’s disappointing If and when I get my Studebaker where I want it. I’m going to make damn sure everybody knows what it’ll do. Why not? It’s supposed to be something you’re proud of ain’t it.

Well I saw 11.74 1/4 mile. I suppose it eventually did better than that. Too bad I’ll never get to see that

In the video, you saw that I shut down due to a rear end sway issue at about 800 - 1000 ft point. Yes, you probably won't ever see it.
@ir8145 Жыл бұрын
@@NorthIdahoFlash so you never finished building the car. Or haven’t yet? Right now I now how that goes. I be had my Studebaker for almost two years now and I have a long way to go. Lots of time and money to be spent and made before it’s done. And it’s not done till it’s done. Of course it will always be a work in progress. But at least you got it to drive. You just need to keep getting.

@@ir8145 It's finished, just shaking out and making final mods to the rear 4-link and front steering setup.

Wow, I love the fact that you've kept so much of the original dash. And, so tastefully, improved the the gauge cluster! With a front bumper, stock looking door panels, and carpet, it would be really spectacular!

It looks like, it has a very correct, original paint scheme. The supercharger looks like it could even be, an 8-71? Not too likely, it's sitting on top of the original 232" V8! So how much, and what kind of displacement, is under it? It sounds like, there may not have been any mufflers on it either? It also looks like the drive wheels, have a little more rubber, than the originals? It looks like it also has a nice sturdy Roll Cage! Of course, that's not stock. Still missing, are the front bumper, headlights, and taillights. So, what will it be, Show car, Race car, Street car, All of the above?
@NorthIdahoFlash4 жыл бұрын
Blower is 8-71. Engine is a full race 489 BBC ... Brodix, SCAT, etc. Most of the chassis is Art Morrison. Rear housing, 4-link, axles, etc is Strange. There is 37" of rubber for the rear wheels. Yes, there are tiny mufflers ... in Idaho that car is street legal. 12 point cage. It will be used for a very little street, show, and it will make passes as a Super Pro as all of the necessary SFI certs are in place.
