Cheer~~a living organism of the kind exemplified by trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses, ferns, and mosses, typically growing in a permanent site, absorbing water and inorganic substances through its roots, and synthesizing nutrients in its leaves by photosynthesis using the green pigment chlorophyll.😊

The Albizia julibrissin/Silktree, of which I have a few, grows as far North as Boston, Massachusetts. The beautiful pink powderpufflike flowers are adorning the branches Now. Many years ago my aunt planted two Silktrees in her back yard, probably seeing them for her first time at the Arnold Arboreatum in Boston. In the early 1980's, there was a hurricane, which very badly damaged one tree which she could not save. The remaining tree is about 60 years old. Its' pea-like pods with very thin seeds begin dropping in late Fall and throughout the winter. Somewhere along the way, the seeds mature, turning brown; the pods then open along a long edge of the pod, scattering seed, hither & yon. Since the Silktree is the Last tree to leaf out, new seedlings or mature trees, young seedlings are difficult to identify until greeery begins ti show on twigs. So if you want Mimosa's, wait until you see Green fern-like foilage beggining to appear. My aunt was a great gardener and lover of all nature.
