The far side of the moon, the face pointing away from the earth, gets hit by more asteroids - so it's far rougher than the side which points towards the Earth.

Thank you, this makes so much sense! Does the Earth not block sunlight to the moon?
@DannyNicholsonsTechFix19 күн бұрын
the moon is a long way from the earth, and its orbit wobbles, so its not directly in line with the earth for it to be blocked. But one or twice a year the moon directly lines up behind the earth and the sunlight gets blocked - and this is what we call a lunar eclipse.

I find it annoying when someone has zero reason to interrupt or complain, they just think I'm acting weird and don't like it They say why are you doing it like that , And then they get annoyed when i start gently listing off the dozens of reasons i am doing it that way, usually in part out of consideration and to help them and those around me And they accuse me like I'm the selfish jerk for not capitulating and folding right away at their baseless objection (Though, come to think of it, my mom does this and it drives me crazy, because she doesn't listen to what i actually say, she assumes what I'm saying so much that she literally doesn't hear a word i say, and then she panics and avoids, distracts, makes up random stuff put words in my mouth and then argue and put on a show panicking about what she assumed or made up what i said (sometimes i can see her consciously make up stuff and misunderstand on purpose, other times i think she honestly doesn't realize that she literally deludes herself), ) But that being said First i worry about becoming like that Second, she often does assume i am coming from selfish reasons and she often frames her actions as noble righteous causes, and avoids any talk of flaws or problems That sounds s lot like me, It's tricky cause she has all these trauma and triggers, it's like walking through land mines, but i literally can't address anything important without setting her off, I've tried being patient and calming her down, making her food, music, relaxed etc, and letting her talk for hours while we keep busy with a slight distraction like folding laundry or preparing dinner, i get her calm, and get her talking about something, but then she starts spiraling in her self fulfilling rhetoric, and i can't wait any longer and i try to snap her out of it and get her to see that things aren't so set in stone or bleak, and that we family don't hate her, etc And we might have 5 minutes of calm discussion, that quickly devolves into chaos and shouting, and her repeating messages, rhetoric, broken record, etc We've begged her to take care of herself, but i think she's so afraid of digging through her past that she makes up grand fears for herself, she thinks she'll have to practically be a monk when she goes through therapy, like she thinks she will have to isolate herself from her kids and grandkids for years or until she dies, and that it will take tons of money, etc etc etc, But there's free support groups, and she could take things a little here and there, and in the meantime, her life is falling apart, and all her kids have PTSD around her

Has anyone ever considered if the axial tilt is affected by the 'attractions' between other planets and astronomical bodies as they get 'closer and farther' from the earth during their natural orbits around the sun? Could this be what is causing "global warming" at a time when the planets are 'aligning' in our galaxy? Is the global tilt of our planet and the 'amount' of exposed icecaps and heated water (which is a better heat conductor then land) on a direct line with the sun increasing this effect? I read somewhere that the planets will be fully aligned by next February....how does this effect the phenomena? Is the the "heat" is coming from within the core of the planet (and volcanic activity during the planetary alignment) OR the interaction of the sun and the position of the "tilt"? Or is it just because we're killing trees which converted CO2 to Oxygen...and has nothing to do with the movement of the planetary bodies at all? (chemistry tells us that as the waters heat up more oxygen moves out from the waters into the atmosphere because it makes oxygen less soluble).

The 360 degree ball stays upright wherever it is placed and has no chance of tilting. If the earth is 360 degrees round like this ball, then how come the earth only rotates at 23 degrees tilt? This means that the earth is not spherical in shape. Can scientists explain these doubts?
@Mochi-SlayerАй бұрын
Yea, it isn't a sphere, the gravitational pull from other planets are stretching earth, so its more like a oval

Great video! I'm in my fifties and feel like an idiot! Lol, I guess because I've seen the moon go across the sky, I've assumed that it's takes a day to go around the earth. .... 😂 Then I was thinking of how you often see the moon during the day as well. 🤔 And throw in that I've been told all my life that tides are from the moon's gravitational pushing onto the earth. 😮 And thinking about how many tides there are in a day. ....and then I started to wonder if it possibly goes around more than once, maybe? (Forgetting that the sun's gravity probably has an effect as well.) But at least I knew SOMETHING was off. That's why I felt like an idiot after doing a quick Google! Lol Of course, it's a month. That what we base our calendars on! (Duh! Lol) I am very visual. So your animation really helped me understand it. Thanks so much for taking the time to create that visual. Now ..... Could you throw in the earths rotation and orbit around the sun? Lol And maybe the shadow of the earth onto the moon, because this eedjit had it in her head that the phases of the moon might be from the earth's shadow! Lol (Just kidding. I think I get it now. I guess that's just for an eclipse, right? ) Obviously, It's been a VERY long time since I gave any thought to astronomy. (And elementary school was in the 70's for me! Lol ) Thanks again!
